Shortstop

From Buster Olney on ESPN.com "The Royals are among the handful of teams in the majors that increased payroll for 2009, and whether or not they will add more during the season, like with a midsummer trade, might be predicated on their attendance. Kansas City typically has drawn about 1.5 million a year, and if the attendance climbs toward 2 million, that might create more leeway for general manager Dayton Moore to pursue a shortstop midseason." What SS do you think Olney might be thinking about?

I'm pretty sure Furcal and Yunel Escobar's teams want to keep them

so I can’t think of anyone else….

OCab?

If Oakland finds themselves out of it? Christian Guzman is an impending FA ($10 mill club option for 2010). Would we gamble on Miggy Tejada?

And dare we dream? Gritty Jack Wilson?

Willie Bloomquist has a .441 wOBA

I’m not sure why we’re even talking about this.

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before Farnsworth’s WHIP is below 3.

2008-09 offseason = vindicated

Not only is Kyle's WHIP under 3...

he’s already got it down to under 2 (currently 1.909)! Success!!

If Wilson came aboard...

there would be a gritplosion if he and Bloomquist manned the middle IF. It would be like having a second, massive pitching mound in the middle of the field.

Runner standing on 2nd (or where it probably is under all the grit) with Wilson at SS and Bloomquist playing 2B:

If only we didn't get rid of Gload

Imagine the grit

It would have to be someone who is having a good season by July

I think that is going to leave Tejada out of it as I think he’s done as a decent MLB player. Maybe OCab. But I think SS is going to be in pretty good shape by July. Aviles will come around.
