draft stuff:Tanner Scheppers' first start and what that might mean for us
Tanner Scheppers made his 2009 Indy League debut last night:
4ip 0h 0r 4w 6k
His FB was at 95-97 with a good breaking ball. I doubt he will be there when we draft but this will probably push another player down to us--perhaps one of the HS arms--or maybe even Aaron Crow. Which begs the question: do we want Crow if he is there? (Crow was supposed to also pitch last night, but I can't find anything on it--so maybe it was rained out or something)

I don't think he'll be there
But if he was, it depends on who else was out there. I think Crow has a pretty limited upside – middle of the rotation type guy, whereas a HS kid like Shelby Miller or Jacob Turner or Zach Wheeler would have much higher upside.
I’m not sure I’d even take Crow over Mike Leake, who has a similar “middle of the rotation” upside, but is a year younger and hasn’t been out of high level competition for a year like Crow.

Crow only went 1 2/3
3 runs 1er and 3ks. Took the loss.
Was looking at Fargo's roster
In addition to having the two stars of the Dutch National Team – Randall Simon and Yurendell DeCaster (Sidney Ponson to join them soon?) they also have former Royal minor leaguer Tyler Chambliss

I am hoping that Scheppers is lights out
in the Indy league so he’ll go higher than the Royals spot. It will push one more quality HSer to the Royals.
yes. Please.
I don’t think we’d make the mistake of drafting him.

had Scheppers goin 11-15 so far. That was prior to his performance last night and is just fan speculation. I heard he was lights out in indy spring practices and 95-97 is pretty regular for him. Hopefully bonus demands can push him to us.
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
According to BA
Crow unofficially was pitching around 92 while touching 97. He also flashed a plus slider. He was on a 40 pitch limit while Scheppers threw 54 pitches.
