According to KCSP's Greg Schaum, the Royals have promoted reliever Chris 'Disco' Hayes to AAA Omaha. Hayes will join the O-Royals as they embark on their annual 2+ week road trip during the College World Series.

Hayes, 26, was off to a dominating start in his second season at AA Northwest Arkansas, posting a 0.98 ERA in 18 relief appearances, and has only walked six batters all season. He did not allow a single earned run in the month of May.

Hayes will hopefully alleviate some of the frustrating results the Omaha bullpen has created in this past month. The team certainly needs a boost - they've won just seven of their last 30 games, and many of those losses were attributed to the bullpen.

Probably could contribute at ML level right now

While we’re on this topic – would love to see Jordan Parraz promoted to AAA soon. He’s already 24, and seems to be improving by leaps and bounds. Certainly a promotion by, say July would not be rushing him all that much, would it? This is his first exposure to AA, but he is hitting the snot out of the ball, with teriffic peripherals to boot.

Also hope Jeff Bianchi is up for a promotion to AA, say towards the end of this season. He appears to have regained his good prospect standing, and we sure could use some bolstering in the MI prospect department!

Mr Glass, this is a pro sports team, not a retail store - run it like one!

Mission Impossible Prospect?

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

About as likely as the Royals producing a bonafide

middle infield prospect (or, at least, producing and KEEPING one instead of throwing in a trade like Mark Ellis)

Or, I could say, producing one that doesn’t turn into a pumpkin after 1 good season (Berroa, Aviles)
