Even with his hot start

Bloomquist is now down to .340/.398. Damn you, Captain Regression.

Wow

The Reds lineup looks every bit as bad as ours. Worse, maybe. Willy Taveras? Ramon Hernandez at first? Laynce Freakin’ Nix at cleanup???

"Do they have people that tall in Mexico?"

by NHZ on Jun 13, 2009 7:11 PM EDT reply actions

yep

They just finished a series in Washington in which they hit like .199 (and somehow won 2 of 3)

Taveras is 0 for his last 29

Hernandez is at first because Votto’s still on the DL with mystery stress/anxiety/issues.

Nix has actually be somewhat good for them the last week or so. He killed STL when they played them.

If Davies is going to get turned around

this would be the time to do it. I’m having a hard time getting over how bad that Reds lineup is. Remember when they had Griffey, Kearns, Dunn, Encarnacion (is he hurt?), AND Phillips? And now….this. As you posted above, Votto being out makes it look worse, and he’s pretty good. But still….

"Do they have people that tall in Mexico?"

by NHZ on Jun 13, 2009 7:14 PM EDT up reply actions

Encarnacion was with STL....

then he got hit in the face by a foul ball when he was in the on-deck circle. It jacked up his face/vision pretty good. I don’t think he’s been back since, but I’m not sure.

"Do they have people that tall in Mexico?"

yeah this is the dude's premise

Both qbs are similar……u pointed that out 4 me. Dont know why im wasting my time w/ u………………. ……………lol qb rating…….really? ?? Thats ure great equalizer stat…lol………. …..I dont like thigpen but to not even put him on the same level w/ ryan w/ clearly similar stats is laughable……….R yan isnt GOD or the next Favre.hes good but not great, stop trying to force him on all of us.

by GobbleforCyoung on Jun 13, 2009 8:01 PM EDT up reply actions

And

“Easy

thigpen 18tds 12int

Ryan 16 tds 11 int

by GobbleforCyoung on Jun 13, 2009 8:02 PM EDT up reply actions

You ever read Football Outsiders?

Thigpen wasn’t anywher near as good at moving the chains. Ryan came out very high according to their rankings.

"Do they have people that tall in Mexico?"

by NHZ on Jun 13, 2009 8:03 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah I agree

I’m a Falcon fan, so im all about it

by GobbleforCyoung on Jun 13, 2009 8:03 PM EDT up reply actions

I completely agree but now the league has their tape on him

and this yr they wont be able to run as much imo. teams will make him sling it around a bit more.

by 2LegittoShit on Jun 13, 2009 8:02 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah people say that

but he also has a year of experience to. I can’t find one QB who was worse his 2nd year (except Favre surprisingly) so have to conclude that the QB improves more than Coaches adjusting to him

by GobbleforCyoung on Jun 13, 2009 8:03 PM EDT up reply actions

We will see. Plus his value.....

IMO was inflated a bit due to the falcons prior situation and qb. He was extremely impressive though dont get me wrong.

by 2LegittoShit on Jun 13, 2009 8:05 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah but from several analysts thinking he wasn't all that

and would bust, and for that 72 million contract he got..im glad he was really productive his rookie year. Those contracts are crazy for top rookie QB’s and it just makes the investment even worse if they sit for a year

by GobbleforCyoung on Jun 13, 2009 8:07 PM EDT up reply actions

by ratherfantastic on Jun 13, 2009 8:05 PM EDT reply actions

Davies after 0-2

.241/.263/.351. Funny how Meche seems to get more trouble from the commenters here about not being able to finish 0-2 batters.

"Do they have people that tall in Mexico?"

by NHZ on Jun 13, 2009 8:10 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah,

I never said he didn’t pitch slow. But some pretty bad misconceptions happen about Meche. Mostly the 0-2 count thing.

by NHZ on Jun 13, 2009 8:06 PM EDT up reply actions

Man i think Davies has better stuff than Bannister

but Bannister has more control…I think the battle for 5th starter will be interesting if Crow can make it to the big leagues next year

by GobbleforCyoung on Jun 13, 2009 8:06 PM EDT reply actions

That's a heck of a timetable

Crow might be very good, but I think 2011 is more realistic.

"Do they have people that tall in Mexico?"

by NHZ on Jun 13, 2009 8:07 PM EDT up reply actions

well he's on the same path as hocevar and he got called up in 07 after being drafted in 06

i think Crow probably has better stuff/composure

but after last night I can’t even read Hochevar…imagine if he breaks out into a good starter in the big leagues?

by GobbleforCyoung on Jun 13, 2009 8:09 PM EDT up reply actions

I still see Hochevar as a middle of the rotation guy

but rumors of his demise were always exaggerated. He’d’ve looked much better last year with a credible defense.

"Do they have people that tall in Mexico?"
