I've been on the road this weekend, and won't get back til late tonight. I'm emotionally destroyed that I missed Royals-Pirates.

Has Billy Butler been traded yet?

You know it makes sense. We clear the 1B/DH logjam, which lets the power bat of Mike Jacobs play 1B, Guillen to DH and Failcoeur to RF.

 Everybody wins!.

I actually kind of like Sanchez

Not sure I’d give up Teahen for him, but I think he’d be a decent gamble for the right cost.

and then maybe we swap BB

for Griffey and try to put him back in CF a la the ChiSox of last year. Hey, this team needs some veterans to teach them how to play the game.

oh I almost forgot

I think Jim Edmonds is still available. Remember that catch he made with the Angels!?!?!

by RoyalFlush on Jun 29, 2009 4:22 PM EDT up reply actions

speaking of catches

im sure we could get some dialog going with the angels for Gary Matthews, hes a gamer that plays hard and the right way.

Time to interject some comedy

This is true, I swear – when I saw the link to the story about Newfoundland and Labrador, I actually clicked on it with anticipation, for I honestly thought somebody was trying to breed some new coat colors for those dog breeds.

I shit you not.

I am stupid.

Barry Bonds is STILL available

Yeah? From what I hear, you couldn't hit water if you fell out of a f@#%ing boat.

Royals scouting Phillies prospects

Phillies notebook

Former Phillies assistant general manager Mike Arbuckle, now a special adviser with the Royals, was at Lehigh Valley Friday when a pair of top prospects – Carrasco and catcher Lou Marson – were in action. The Royals have a couple of pitchers, Gil Meche and Brian Bannister, and several hitters who could be available via trade . . .

I don't get the hype myself

His Minor league numbers are not that great. Decent, but not all that inspiring.

fair enough...

but is decent better than we have, we cant expect to have a team full of studs… Baby Steps?

For sure

I’d like to have him. I just wouldn’t want to give up too much. I think Meche and Banny ae worth more than him, Gil by a lot.

Oh I agree, but if we could unload Jacobs for him...

or this Bruce Chen guy?

Seems like he'd be a decent platoon player

But not much more than a lefty masher. Probably a decent 4th OF option. Pretty limited upside with him.

Another Meche Q

are we so small-market that we can’t afford some sort of MRI for situation like that?

Bloomquist's Gritiness

And 95% Iron blood affect the magnetic field in Kansas City, and thus require a very powerful and expensive MRI machine.

BTW

Gil’s next start will be a day game. Because throwing the ball with a dead arm and bad back when it’s 85 outside is a smart idea

I am willing to bet

he might be partially pinching a nerve in his lower back due to the muscle spasms being so bad.

Just a wild guess though

by MarioVanPeebles Republic of China on Jun 29, 2009 7:39 PM EDT up reply actions

or maybe not so lower back

a nerve that is affecting his arm

I really have no idea, but was just trying to guess an idea that kept the two events linked

this could not be the case

A turd in hand is worth two in the pants.

But also, if you have a turd in your hand, pretty much everyone is going to know it. I would have to think that most of our players have never been less valuable as a trading commod…..commadi……chip. It hurts to give up on once bright prospects in order to fill out our minor league system with grade C prospects.

If you don't understand it, kill it.
