810 WHB Soren Petro's Interview with Trey Hillman
Talks about Callaspo hitting 2nd/7th, having DDJ hitting down in the lineup or up at the top, returning Farnsy to a more important role in the bullpen, Kevin Seitzer's job security, Tom Glavine, getting back to .500, and defensive miscues in Tampa.
Added bonus: He mentions terms such as "sabermetrics," "small sample size," "higher leverage," and OBP.
Good, insightful interview.

He mentions terms such as "sabermetrics," "small sample size," "higher leverage," and OBP.
As in “Sabermetrics is a crock science. I rely instead on small sample sizes and putting my worst players in higher leverage situations. Besides, if OBP is such an important stat, why don’t they put it on the scoreboard?”

Trey actually sounded pretty smart in this interview
He mentions using OBP to decide how to structure the lineup to best generate runs. That right there is more than I’ve ever given him credit for.
In talking about DDJ, he said that he’s talked to him a lot and looked at his numbers against LHP to figure out where to bat him in the lineup. “He’s a career .350 OBP, but now he’s OBP-ing under .290, so that’s not going to generate a lot of runs at the top of the lineup”.
He may not be the smartest manager, but MAYBE i’ve been giving him too little credit.
