Here's something to follow the rest of the season - (and it should excite RR, who is a bit more exciteable when it comes to Olivo's walk rate than most):
Olivo times reached on a WP/PB 3rd strike: 3 (unless I missed one)
Olivo times reached on a BB: 2I would really doubt no one has ever accomplished this feat for an entire season. Sounds like a really depressing baseball reference research project

this would be the infamous BB/Olivo ratio

I can think of another contest
TPJ total hits vs. Miggy’s Olivos
I’m picking Miggy

I just want to know
after this season (or during, doesn’t matter really)… can the K/WP please be adopted by MLB/media as an Olivo (much like .200 = Mendoza Line)?
We're on Miggy pretty bad here (and deservedly so), but I shouldn't forget
and would be remiss not to mention what was, for me, quite possibly the defining moment that symbolized the Royals futility the last quarter century:
I speak, of course, of the Mark Quinn walk that broke his drought, followed by the fireworks “accidentally” going off to mark the occasion.
Mr Glass, this is a pro sports team, not a retail store - run it like one!
I just hope that...
the person or persons responsible for the fireworks “accident” didn’t get fired. Cause that was hilarious!!!
Oh, and way to go Olivo – you’ve got to be the only player that’s more likely to get on base by striking out than by taking a walk!!!

It may have been the hitting coach
I can’t remember, but it was definitely set up by someone in the clubhouse.
Reminds me of Berroa.
Back in the day my I tracked Berroa’s Errors to Walks Ratio, to see if he could really have more errors than walks in a season.
He made the miracle happen in:
2004 (28 Es/23 BBs)
2005 (25 Es/18 BBs)
2006 (18 Es/14 BBs)
Good old Berroa.
I remember giving him a standing O one of those years for a walk
It had been a looooooooooong time since he’d last had one. Magical.

yeah, but he's an awesome defender!
and by “awesome,” I mean i just calculated him at -4.3
I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at Driveline Mechanics.
it's almost all on passed balls/wild pitches
although he’s currently below average throwing out runners, too
