Game 57 Open Thread - Royals at Indians
Your pitching matchup is Bannister versus Lee.
Yes, Cliff Lee has been gifted with yet another matchup against the Royals. Tonight marks the 8th time in his last 43 starts that he'll face the Royals.
(The Game Thread will be in the fanposts during the Draft, just so you know. Hope to see people all over the place...)

OH GOD
The scroll on MLB just said the last Royals draft pick to become an All-Star was Ken Harvey (drafted 1999).
soooooooooo
hmmm, well …. uhhh
i’m feeling a strong Banni performance today (and i don’t mean on the pole)
Doesn't it feel like we have played the Indians a gazillion times already?

on a more serious note
i was hoping that he had gone back to his “pitch-to-contact” style that actually had a chance of being effective, though non-traditional. it seems he has to some extent, but with mixed results
you and me both
I actually really liked his confounding STAT lines, and his non-traditional approach. When it worked, it worked, and just made you sit and wonder. But sometimes it goes horrible wrong.

He's imitating Christy Mathewson.
He had a game where he got the first two, gave up two singles, then got the third out for 7 straight innings. Then apparently got bored and retired the last six. 14 hit complete game shutout. Dead ball era sorta helped that out.

They got four runs off Cliff Lee, whi came into this game with an ERA under 3.
This is the fault of the pitchers, all the way.

I am reminded of how lucky we are to have Nunez dominating hitters (like he did in early 2008)….and every time I see Coco smile and walk to the dugout after a strikeout I thank god we have such a dominant, cheap option in the bullpen who can pitch 75 innings this year and have an ERA under 3.
