4. Billy Butler, dh (Mike Sweeney when healthy)
5. Ross Gload, 1b

just in the interest of full disclosure

OPS+

Baird
2004 85
2005 91
2006 91

Moore
2007 84
2008 92
2009 89

What would our OPS+ be this year without all of the injuries we’ve had? (and granted, Mike Jacobs has sucked ass this year, and that can be directly pinned on Moore)

You might be looking at a three-year improvement in OPS+ if there hadn’t been such significant injuries. Not by any means saying that DM is great or even good at building an offense, but it’s also not like he’s been an utter and complete failure, either.

yeah

injuries have slowed the change, but it is still not pretty.

If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.

if you look at the wOBA stuff I did on the other thread

it’s about the same

THe team hasn’t been overly effected by injuries. CoCo Crisp is not an above-average hitter, even if Gordon (pre-Moore acquisition is). is. Callaspo has been a good enough hitter to almost keep up with the runs he gives up n defense, so that’s good. But mostly, Moore hans’t shown the ability to identify decent hitters (regalrdless of the price), or decent position players in general. We can all agree on that.

I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at Driveline Mechanics.

I was wondering if Sietzer is having an effect on this team?

Good? Bad? none?
