But where were Soria and DeJesus celebrating?
Was it at A BASEBALL GAME? Curse those vague AP photo captions!

Even worse
now he’s spread the “just happy to be hear” mentality to Soria, just as he already did to John Buck:

We saw his serious side last night
with that warm embrace of of Freel. I for one prefer the jokester smile.

Soria fooled DDJ into thinking that putting your arm up in the air after a win is a
tradition in Mexico

Does Halladay have a no trade clause?
Because if I were him, I sure as hell wouldn’t want to go to Texas.

he currently lives in Toronto...
which is in CANADA. remember this. He’s carrying around money with a leaf on it. He’s paying like 45% in total taxes. Get back to the US, TX doesn’t have a state income tax. Texas women are pretty hot. There’s air conditioning for those 100 degree days.

I wonder how his taxes are... since he probably also has maintained a US residencey
and pays prorated state/local taxes for every road game as well

Believe me
he pays taxes up here.

i wonder how much US he's also paying
by royalsreview on Jul 10, 2009 1:23 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
probably also a lot
must at least file a federal return
if he owns any property in the U.S., he has to pay on that as well

He's getting the double whammy.
Been there done that and I wasn’t making NEARLY as much (obviously).

just to displace all speculation
I developed and delivered customized training to electrical trades and engineers in the automobile manufacturing industry back in the mid to late 90’s and lived in both Oshawa and St. Therese areas while also maintaining condo in Macomb County Michigan. Yes it sucked.

I've heard that this is the case...
MLB players have to pay state taxes in every state they play a game in. That would suck just from a filing standpoint, let alone the expense.
by RaulDuke on Jul 10, 2009 1:37 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
yea...
I think states started going after this about a decade ago
i’m sure all these guys have accountants though
by royalsreview on Jul 10, 2009 1:39 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
But Royals players have to pay their accountants $1,000/hr

That seems kind of silly
As somebody that travels to a different state for business doesn’t have to worry about paying income tax in the other state.

I live in Canada
It varies by province.

Yeah that's the weird thing and I didn't understand it completely but it didn't matter.
Our office payroll staff did all my taxes for me and they pointed to the amounts and said “pay that much” and I said “fuck” and then just paid it while they were explaining why, and it was going into one ear and out the other. I don’t know how different Quebec was than Ontario in taxes but in atmosphere it was like night and day. I did like the beer though. LABATT’S NOW!

Quebec is more expensive, tax wise
Both income tax and GST. French socialism and all that.

When a sales person travels on business and makes a sale in another state
do they have to pay sales tax in that state?
