Seems like the Red Sox hitters are the type to kill a Bruce Chen.

They’ll sit back and wait for mistakes, which he seems to make eventually.

If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.

New JoePoBlog

The numbers I see suggest that Yuniesky Betancourt is a terrible defensive shortstop. Not a mediocre shortstop. Not a talented but sloppy shortstop. Not a shaky shortstop. No. Terrible. Ghastly. Tragic. I’ve already shown you his UZR numbers, his John Dewan plus/minus numbers — they tell the story of a shortstop who was never especially great (despite his ability to make sensational plays) and has progressively gotten worse and worse until now he has no range, no consistency and might be the worst defensive shortstop in the game.

Offensively- from JoePo
The numbers I see suggest that Yuniesky Betancourt is the worst every day offensive player in the American League and has been for quite some time. There are countless numbers I can use to make this point — at the most basic level, Betancourt’s .299 on-base percentage since 2007 is the worst in baseball for anyone with 1,300 or more plate appearances.*

If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.

I'm saying innocent people are dying in the Middle East

The Israel Palenstinian conflict is borderline genocide backed by the US, which has tons of Jewish people.

South America was politically unstable. You can classify Che’s entire socialist endeavor a state of war.

by GobbleforCyoung on Jul 12, 2009 3:17 PM EDT up reply actions

the Israel/Palestine conflict is just that

a conflict that we are seeking to end, some in the US more than others, but when was the last time a US soldier killed someone in Palestine? I personally agree that the situation in Palestine is genocide, but the only blood on our hands is the fact we sold or gave contracts to Israel for the weapons and previous administrations haven’t been tough on Israel for what they’re doing.

I resepct Che, I’m actually wearing one of his stupid shirts (which I’m sure he would have loved the idea of his face being commercialized)

i make the distinction of when the killing is and where

in wartime, peacetime, stirring trouble, also with some kind of moral justification in there. i’m not a relativist, but there are killings that are always wrong…and Che was a big fan of those kind.

Coming into today, we are ranked in our league out of 14 teams.

Tied for last in players with double digit homers.
Tied for last in players with 35+ RBI.
Last in players with 30+ walks with 0. Everyone else has 2 players at least.
And 11th in SB.

What's the lesson?

That our GM is really bad at acquiring players who can walk or hit for power or run?
That our manager can’t make a lineup to maximize what little skills they have?
That our hitting coach couldn’t turn a pile of crap into a miracle job?

Probably a bit of all 3

That said, I think Seitz did a pretty good job the first month. But then players reverted back to their natural tendencies like a drunk falling off the wagon and back into the bar.
