I think he's off his rocker.
Every time he’s interviewed, he just gets crazier.

Seems like the Red Sox hitters are the type to kill a Bruce Chen.
They’ll sit back and wait for mistakes, which he seems to make eventually.
If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.

The numbers I see suggest that Yuniesky Betancourt is a terrible defensive shortstop. Not a mediocre shortstop. Not a talented but sloppy shortstop. Not a shaky shortstop. No. Terrible. Ghastly. Tragic. I’ve already shown you his UZR numbers, his John Dewan plus/minus numbers — they tell the story of a shortstop who was never especially great (despite his ability to make sensational plays) and has progressively gotten worse and worse until now he has no range, no consistency and might be the worst defensive shortstop in the game.
Enough is Enough - Fire Trey Hillman
"might be"
well that’s good enough for me, but if haven’t checked we have the worst stats than another other MLB team. Between Pena, Hernandez and Bloomquist they are hitting .220

he'll nail down the position
which is baseball talk for “he’ll play every day and suck instead of having multiple players at the position who suck”
Enough is Enough - Fire Trey Hillman
Offensively- from JoePo
The numbers I see suggest that Yuniesky Betancourt is the worst every day offensive player in the American League and has been for quite some time. There are countless numbers I can use to make this point — at the most basic level, Betancourt’s .299 on-base percentage since 2007 is the worst in baseball for anyone with 1,300 or more plate appearances.*
If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.

instead of everyone www.royalscriticism.com bitching about the acquisition they should ask themselves who is better TPJ or Betancourt???

not like that guy was a mass murderer or anything
never been a fan of the saying that “one man’s terrorist is another’s freedom fighter”…murder is the same in any language

so then all US soldiers are also potential murderers?
murder is the same in any language
unless you go hardcore pacifist or hardcore realist we have to have some distinctions, right

u actually comparing Che's tactics to those of US soldiers?
or am i reading that wrong? Murder is murder and war is war…Che shot defectors, innocents, and those who disagreed with him, before and after the wars he participated in or helped start…these are facts.

I'm saying innocent people are dying in the Middle East
The Israel Palenstinian conflict is borderline genocide backed by the US, which has tons of Jewish people.
South America was politically unstable. You can classify Che’s entire socialist endeavor a state of war.
by GobbleforCyoung on Jul 12, 2009 3:17 PM EDT up reply actions
the Israel/Palestine conflict is just that
a conflict that we are seeking to end, some in the US more than others, but when was the last time a US soldier killed someone in Palestine? I personally agree that the situation in Palestine is genocide, but the only blood on our hands is the fact we sold or gave contracts to Israel for the weapons and previous administrations haven’t been tough on Israel for what they’re doing.

wow I'm surprised you agree with that - nice
especially being in KC (which is middle America. It’s not just the arms/weapons contracts its srtraight up financial monetary aid as well.
The elder Bush did a good job keeping Israel in place and even threatening he would arm Egypt, Syria & Afghanistan to blow Israel off the map. Clinton and Bush have done nothing.
I resepct Che, I’m actually wearing one of his stupid shirts (which I’m sure he would have loved the idea of his face being commercialized)
He’s an interesting character, one who actually professed an idealogy and lived it and millions lived vicariously through him

no
I’m saying, if you just call everything murder, and drop the freedom fighter/terrorist disctintion, then, without distinctions, wehere are we?
i make the distinction of when the killing is and where
in wartime, peacetime, stirring trouble, also with some kind of moral justification in there. i’m not a relativist, but there are killings that are always wrong…and Che was a big fan of those kind.

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think today in hard words, and tomorrow speak what tomorrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said today.

true, but he haas like 40-50 at bats fewer than each of them

If I had any faith in our lineup today, I'd be that "7-6 Royals" guess
But I think with the Sunday lineup, we’re just rolling over. That said, Boston has to be getting tired from running all the bases this weekend, so 8-0

So.... that stat they showed earlier got me thinking.
Coming into today, we are ranked in our league out of 14 teams.
Tied for last in players with double digit homers.
Tied for last in players with 35+ RBI.
Last in players with 30+ walks with 0. Everyone else has 2 players at least.
And 11th in SB.
Is there a correlation anywhere in there?

What's the lesson?
That our GM is really bad at acquiring players who can walk or hit for power or run?
That our manager can’t make a lineup to maximize what little skills they have?
That our hitting coach couldn’t turn a pile of crap into a miracle job?
Probably a bit of all 3
That said, I think Seitz did a pretty good job the first month. But then players reverted back to their natural tendencies like a drunk falling off the wagon and back into the bar.
DDJ now has seen 11 of Becket's 58 pitches today (3.75 vs team avg of 2.9)
and has our only hit but he’s still awful, right?
Fuck Tejeda sucks
