All-Star Break Brings Royals Fans Sweet Relief

We'll all look back on this someday and laugh. I think.

Rather than posting a game recap, I decided to keep it short tonight, share some links, and gear up for All-Star week. Be sure to hit Royals Review over the next few days, as I have a number of new posts in the hopper.

    Yes

but do not kill yourself linking 20 articles. 4 or 5 is usually enough.

    They're excellent

Always good to diversify sources of info.

    Yes, and some constructive criticism

I with they were sorted into categories. Just from the last couple, I was starting to get a sense of the following categories: 1) RR posts, 2) Royals articles, 3) Other things around baseball, 4) Other sports, 5) Fluff

Or some other sort of categorization to keep things a little organized that isn’t a burden on you when you’re making them.

Also, I could do without the fluff stuff (i.e. non baseball related). That’s just me, tho- other people might feel otherwise about that, tho. Don’t get me wrong- I like reading about other topics but sports people who try to talk about other things is a pet peeve of mine. I really don’t care what Jim Rome or Colin Cowherd think are cool. Or who Bill Simmons is hanging around with or watching on tv. Or what Dan Patrick is doing at some swimsuit model party.

Heck, I think Petro’s show is my favorite to listen to of anything I hear. I realize they have to pay the bills and talk about where their remotes are and put in a plug as that’s what keeps the lights on at the station so I can’t complain about that. But I could care less about stump the chumps or intern jeopardy or any time they digress into something non sports related. If I want to listen to something else, that’s what my NPR Science Friday podcasts are for or watching the Daily Show online or whatever. People at work don’t come to the server guy (me), asking for finance help and I don’t listen to sports talk to hear what Jack Bauer did last night.
    /end rant

Anyways, I think separating them out into categories would alleviate this.

This season has hurt me so bad

That I actually bought a Yankees hat, not too root for them though, I’m just going to New York to watch the Bombers fight the Rays in September to actually see what two teams with playoff potential are like.

I'm sure they'll be right on it

right after they finish questioning Dayton on his recent moves.

This could probably be made into it's own fanshot

but I’m too lazy to do it — someone feel free to do it if they want to add to it.

I think I’ve found the cause of all of the acquisitions similar to Yuniesky.

For those who don’t remember, or hadn’t starting visiting RR yet, during the summer, kcscoliny posted links to articles from Joe Hamrahi of Baseball Prospectus. The Royals had invited Joe to attend their school for scouts, and he put together a series of 5 posts on what he learned while at the school. If you haven’t read it yet, I’d definitely recommend it.

However, one of the lines from part II of the series stuck out. Some thing that Joe was taught at the school with the way players are evaluated:

And if a player shows you a tool even just once, he owns it!

Players like Yuniesky and Guillen at one time showed the tools of being well-above average defenders.

    Unless I'm wrong...

How many times has Dayton showed us he is a tool?

Christ, you don't need a quadrophonic Blaupunkt! What you need is a curveball! In the show, everyone can hit heat.

    HA!!!!!!

nobody gets caught their first time pissing on a fence. The first time you do it, it’s in a dark alley. You dont get caught, so you get more comfortable and daring. Eventually, you do it in a place where the cops just roll by and arrest you.
