Wow... these MLB guys, you always know you're going to get subtle gestures from them.

As an AL fan, I can only hope that the lockout of Alex Rodriguez doesn't cost them the game.

Could be

A-Rod didn’t want to play to rest his hip.

Slim pickings at 3B this year in the AL. It was either Chone or Michael Young.

but given the treatment of manny as well…

I know its an old argument (sadly)

but when you look at all the structural problems with this game, it is ABSOLUTELY INSANE that it counts for anything

I loved it last night

when Berman, et. al. were going on about how Randy Johnson and Griffey should have been there because it may be the last chance for fans to see them in an All-Star game… then a few minutes later talking about how great it is because it “counts.”

Yes, what a great combo — combining old-timers day with a legit competition!

I actually think its a good idea

But of course take out the “this time it counts”nonsense. Make it a real exhibition game. Let some old-timers play. Heck, let some celebrities play – did you see Nelly blast that home run?

It should have been Young

But shockingly, Teabag probably has as good a shout as Figgins.

Apparently Young is already an All-Star

Shows how much I care about the All-Star Game.

yup

Figgins is having a really good year. MIchael Young is trying to show the Rangers made a mistake by giving awat as many runs on defense as he produces on offense.

he qualifies as a catcher no less!
