For Trade: Julio Lugo, all expenses paid
Good thing the Royals went ahead and acquired Betancourt - wouldn't want a shortstop that could get on base, for free.

Are Lugo And
Betancourt twins separated at birth?
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

Lugo is batting .284 with a .352 on-base percentage in 123 plate appearances

The Royals could have obtained Crisp for these same terms
If they waited until spring training. The Red Sox were basically trying to give Crisp away throughout 2008. There was clearly no spot for him on the 2009 Boston roster. They were going to have to unload him somewhere or DFA him. I was shocked when the Royals not only took his full salary but also gave up a very good relief pitcher for Crisp.
Dayton Moore has had a really bad year.

are we really shocked at anything he does anymore?

the non-Greinke highly of the season so far has been
George Brett’s totally non-alcohol-related rant.
here’s hoping we get another one.
At least it’s more entertaining than the pathetic “Bloomquist is a gamer!” defense

Haha, they had to DFA him
because GMDM went and screwed up their plans by trading for Betancourt.
If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.

I have to say
“Yunielateral Movement” ranks right near the top of all-time site names, IMHO.
Brilliant, sir – simply brilliant.
Mr Glass, this is a pro sports team, not a retail store - run it like one!

"They" say that creative inspiration
often derives from tragedy.
The Royals have inspired quite a bit of creativity among in the past 15 years.
And yet none in the front office. Heeey-ooo!
