After reading through Petro's mid-season grades

how does he explain giving Bannister a C? He has a 2.0 WAR and Petro throws out his W-L record in his last eight starts. What a terrible arguement his last start he went 7 2/3 innings, gave up one run to the Red Sox, and lost.

Bannister will become the next Greinke?

“The Wally Joyner and Dwight Gooden posters have to go. How about Tim Lincecum or Evan Longoria. Its not like you’re 22 anymore.”

You’ll have to pry my Wally Joyner poster out of my cold, dead hands.

    Lil' rumor I heard today

The Royals are scouting the Brewers hard, and the Brew Crew are interested in BannyBeingBanny.

Oh no, please don't trade Banny

I was doing a little research for a post earlier and came to the realization that I think he might really be about as good as his first half has been. So he’s a useful pitcher who is young and cheap, and he is one of the relatively few players on this Royals team who I actually like. I suppose if I truly love him I should hope for what’s best for him… and being traded to a contender in the weaker league would be more fun than toiling for this turd of a ballclub.

Keep in mind that if we trade him we are getting rid of the best sabermetric mind in the entire Royals organization.

Pitching is the currency of baseball!

I think Banny is as good as he’s going to get, he’s going to get more expensive soon, and since we have pitching, trading some of that pitching for young hitting seems to make sense.

So I was looking at Sickels' post about the Brewers' top 20 prospects

They have a ton of great catchers almost ready to come up. Jon Lucroy, Angel Salome, and Brett Lawrie are all rated on the border of B and B+. Surely they don’t need all three of those guys. We could finally scrap Buck and Olivo and start pinning our hopes on a new CATCHER OF THE FUTURE.

I wouldn’t dare to dream of getting Mat Gamel off of them, but he is a prototypical DH type and the Brewers play in the NL.

More realistically, they appear to have some pretty good OF prospects with varying skillsets. I wouldn’t mind getting one of those and a good arm to replace Dan Cortes in the upper minors.

    J. J. Hardy

you know, to competw with Gordon at 3B, seeing as how SS is filled

I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at Driveline Mechanics.

    NNNNOOOOOOOOO

Can not let this happen, Soria’s Unibrow post on Banny is good. He is actually pitching with more IQ this year than last, which is unbelievable!!!

    please dear god no
