In 91 games, Trey Hillman has used 81 different lineups. But something remarkable can be seen if you look over the list of regular players. For most positions, the same guy has started over 80% of the games.
But at the one position where you expect one player to play 5/7ths of the games, at the most, Miguel Olivo has stood out as an Iron Man. Since May 31st, Miguel Olivo has started 36 of 42 games at catcher. Including one streak of 10 consecutive games.
Olivo's off days since May 31st: June 18th, July 1st, and July 12th. Olivo has been a substitute in 3 other games.
Now, Royals catchers who started both games of a double header, in honor of Miguel Olivo probably starting both games to extend his current streak to 5
Actually, i'm having problems finding a time when that happened. Presumably because past Royals managers don't start the same catcher in two games in a row. Hopefully Trey Hillman will give Miguel Olivo some time off before a fan gets hit by a passed ball given up by Miggy.
