Posnanski's Top 100 Baseball Players
Joe takes on the daunting task of naming and ranking the top 100 baseball players, right now, in MLB. I'm sure some of you will disagree vehemently with some of his choices.

I don't get it, quite
does he mean going forward? right now?
To the surprsie of no one, I think having Torriii Hunter in the top 33 or whatever is ludicrous, considering until this year DDJ had outplayed him pretty much every season since DDJ was a full-timer…. and if you think that’s bad, consider this: Hunter is ranked ahead of Curtis Granderson, who is clearlly way, way better than Hunter.
I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at Driveline Mechanics.

You have to WATCH Torii everyday and then you KNOW how good he really is.
Fuck This Team. Period.

So, the Royals got two players listed.
One throws every 5th day and the other pitches in blowouts.
He can get 4, NOT 5.

Joakim Soria isn't one of the best 3-4 players on his own team
Almost not closer is
so how is he one of the top 100 players in the league?

Are you saying that if you had to pick a 25 man roster,
you’d skip him?
I think it’d be idiotic to skip him.
He can get 4, NOT 5.

Well, he intro'd the column saying he was building a team that has to win this year.
He can get 4, NOT 5.

I’d love to see Dayton’s list

I can see that distinction
it depends on what you’re going for

my favorite....
55. Javier Vazquez, SP, Braves
The magic of Atlanta. Vazquez actually has a .500 record this year, but has a 2.86 ERA, 141 strikeouts, only 24 walks and has been about as unhittable as anyone.
56. Jon Lester, SP, Red Sox
Only guy whose record (8-7) doesn’t impress much, but that’s the problem of looking at wins and losses. He’s striking out about 10 per nine innings and has been dominant lately (5-2, 1.75 ERA last nine starts).
