Poll: Who will be DFA'd tomorrow?
I tried to give what I deem are the most likely moves. These are the Royals however so they'll probably do something absurd like trade Kila for 2 washed up veteran middle relief guys to provide bullpen leadership.
I assume if there are multiple moves, they will all involve colon. I'd love to see about 7 moves made including dumping 3-4 relievers. That would be far too progressive for this team though. I'm sure at most we'll get a Colon DFA for Waechter even though Rosa and Hayes absolutely need to get the call - not that I have an issue with Waechter, but doubt he'll be back next year.

The Royals have destroyed any optimistic inclinations of its fanbase

I'm optimistic
that whatever roster move the Royals make, Hillman will find a way to put the whoever remains in a position in which they’re likely to fail.

sounds the perfect time for a Kila call-up!

Tomorrow they will sign Colon and Wright to extensions and release Kila

Don't be ridiculous
Kila will be traded for a crappy Braves reliever from 2005. My money is on Blaine Boyer.

That is funny
But the Royals don’t think highly enough of Kila to even attempt to trade him for washed up players

I've been calling for Rosa and Hayes for a week now,
and I see that Rany is now on board with that too.
In addition, assuming Meche returns, I would love to see the Royals attempt to turn Chen and Davies into relievers as well. I can’t shake the feeling that Chen might actually be OK in that role, or at least an upgrade over any number of the 6 non-Soria relievers currently on the roster. FWIW, usually when I’ve had these ideas about starters becoming relievers, they have proven to be accurate in the past. After all, nearly all relievers are failed starters, or they wouldn’t be relieving in the first place.
My idea with Davies is more out of desperation, in hopes that maybe this would help the “light come on” by forcing him to concentrate on throwing strikes and/or concentrate on refining only 1 or 2 pitches, with the idea of this helping him return to the rotation again next season. Honestly, I’ve almost given up on him, but because of the dearth of alternatives in our upper minors, the Royals almost have to try him one more time, don’t they?
Anyway, these combined moves would allow the Royals to trade or release 4 of the current 6 relievers. Once Farnsworth comes back, that would allow for a 5th to be discarded. I think I would keep only Juan Cruz, in the hope that he regains his former good form.
Reading back over this – how sad is it that I just advocated dumping five-sevenths of a ML bullpen, and can’t really find a good argument for that being too radical of a change? It’s just stunning how bad this bullpen has become this season.

I'd love to see a long DL stint
of course, that should be, “I’d love to see a long DL stint, IF it means Lubanski or Parraz gets a call up later this summer as a result”

Exactly
But if they follow the pattern process, when he goes on the DL they will trade pitching prospects for a crappy replacement RF.

not yet
but even so, he’s actually a decent player (the Francoeur-Church trade was arguably even more of a screwjob than the YB-Cortes trade) — decent hitter, decent defender. Cheap contract, too.
I analyzed both dumb trades at the time. (Dumb from the Royals/Mets perspectives. Very smart by both the Mariners and Braves.)
Church is a “born-again,” though, and has said some pretty dumb things in interviews about it. So that would make him atttractive to both the vulgar religiousity of the Royals as well as the vulgar anti-religiousity of some Royals critics. Everyone’s a winner.

It's not looking good guys
I’m sure we would have heard something by now. It’s almost 9 PM.
I voted for “Nothing. The Royals are confident their bullpen is fine” knowing full well that it was the joke answer… and that it was also the answer most likely to actually come true.
