Breaking up with the Royals?
Or IRL?
Either, way, I respond "awww, sorry to hear that. :( "
Went through, well, it was more of a bizarre situation than out-and-out break-up at the end of the last semester. Wasn’t cool.

IRL
like a battered housewife, I will always return to this damn team no matter what kind of shit they put me through.
No, it’s been…he wants to stay friends and it wasn’t a break up because of disinterest, it was more of a feeling like we didn’t really know each other and we (read: he) didn’t want to stick it out and work on getting to know me without taking a step back. In retrospect, his reasoning makes abso-fucking-lutely no sense. But he was a bit of a dick, so it’s probably for the best that we’re not together. Plus, now I can laugh when misery and woe befalls him. And I don’t have to deal with a 6 month deployment anymore!
Plus…he’s a Yankee fan. It should’ve been a deal breaker from the start.

Tis my favorite part of breaking it off with someone who turns out to not be all that great. ;)
A Yankee fan who is a kind of a dick? Well, obviously his loss.
I’m currently wishing bad headcolds on two of my friends who are stilling pursuing the same girl that I dated at the end of last semester. It’s kind of fun.

That was the silver lining to my day, makes this 7-5 let down much much better.
And I have a few friends who are like that, too. In general I can’t stand the team, but there are always a few rotten apples in the bunch…if that made any sense.

hm...well i can't speak for the wii
but it’s really smooth so far. the create-a-golfer is very in-depth, and it does a great job of tracking your skills in various aspects (power/accuracy/short game/putting) with some graphs. you can increase those skills with good performances and lower them with bad ones. the online tournaments really add another dimension to it as well.

Tony Pena Jr and Ryan Freel have 9 hits in 96 at-bats. Luis Hernandez has 10 hits in 49 at-bats.
TPJ has 4 errors in 145 innings. Hernandez has 1 error in 127 innings.
TPJ plays 1 position, Hernandez can play 3 positions.
The choice was clear for the offense and defense of this team…
wait, the Royals kept Pena and dumped Hernandez?
Can’t someone in the organization give up their job so that TPJ can move to a non-playing role? I think TPJ could make a good bullpen catcher or hot dog vendor. But he sucks at baseball.

In the postgame interview, Trey Hillman is most likely to do the following when asked “what cost the Royals the game?”
a. Poor job all around, including himself
b. The botched Hit-and-Run/steal in the first inning
c. Mike Jacobs inability to make contact
d. Bruce Chen’s inability to throw strikes without seeing them hit into the Great Lakes
e. Inability to get ouit OBP Machine Adam Everett

Serious question-
Is hitting TPJ against anyone actually better than allowing Jacobs to hit against a lefty?
If Jacobs is that bad against lefties, maybe he shouldn’t hit clean up against them ever again this year.

perfect illustration not just of Treyball, but Daytonteam as well
lefty reliever up, a PH situation, but Trey’s in a spot where (he thinks, at least), he has to choose between pinch h itting for the one of the woirst hittersin history, or, even better, for the left-handed DH who can’t hit lefties (and isn’t very good vs. RHP, either)…

you know how some people say that trying to hit a knuckleballer will screw up a guy’s swing?
I wonder if pitchers pitching to Miguel Olivo screws up their idea of what pitches a guy will/won’t swring at, and makes it harder for them to throw strikes for the next few outings.
