Breaking up with the Royals?

Or IRL?

Either, way, I respond "awww, sorry to hear that. :( "

Went through, well, it was more of a bizarre situation than out-and-out break-up at the end of the last semester. Wasn’t cool.

IRL

like a battered housewife, I will always return to this damn team no matter what kind of shit they put me through.

No, it’s been…he wants to stay friends and it wasn’t a break up because of disinterest, it was more of a feeling like we didn’t really know each other and we (read: he) didn’t want to stick it out and work on getting to know me without taking a step back. In retrospect, his reasoning makes abso-fucking-lutely no sense. But he was a bit of a dick, so it’s probably for the best that we’re not together. Plus, now I can laugh when misery and woe befalls him. And I don’t have to deal with a 6 month deployment anymore!

Plus…he’s a Yankee fan. It should’ve been a deal breaker from the start.

Plus, now I can laugh when misery and woe befalls him.

Tis my favorite part of breaking it off with someone who turns out to not be all that great. ;)

A Yankee fan who is a kind of a dick? Well, obviously his loss.

I’m currently wishing bad headcolds on two of my friends who are stilling pursuing the same girl that I dated at the end of last semester. It’s kind of fun.

He has chigger bites from waist to toes

That was the silver lining to my day, makes this 7-5 let down much much better.

And I have a few friends who are like that, too. In general I can’t stand the team, but there are always a few rotten apples in the bunch…if that made any sense.

hm...well i can't speak for the wii

but it’s really smooth so far. the create-a-golfer is very in-depth, and it does a great job of tracking your skills in various aspects (power/accuracy/short game/putting) with some graphs. you can increase those skills with good performances and lower them with bad ones. the online tournaments really add another dimension to it as well.

by Fernando Vina School of Linguistics on Jul 7, 2009 8:43 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i think it looks decent for them, since they can somewhat afford both those contracts.

A lot depends on if Maybin can become the player that most think he can be……I’m not high on Andrew Miller, but I guess he’s got more potential that Willis right now.

talking about the decision to keep TPJ instead of Luis

how TPJ must’ve been “looking over his shoulder”…….but the ROyals kept him bc they think his defense is better………

blah blah but Luis is a switch-hitter…….he can lay down a bunt (which TPJ is not good at)……….etc

TPJ's role in history is

making sure that Donnie Sadler is no longer the worst Royals infielder in history

Serious question-

Is hitting TPJ against anyone actually better than allowing Jacobs to hit against a lefty?

If Jacobs is that bad against lefties, maybe he shouldn’t hit clean up against them ever again this year.

If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that.

http://sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?showforum=129

by Warden11 on Jul 7, 2009 9:43 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

no.......TPJ is not better than anyone in any scenario

I say let BPJ hit for TPJ……replace him with Mitch, moving Bloomy to SS.

then you can let Jacobs face Seay, or pinch-hit with Buck….and let him face Zumaya.

I love it

perfect illustration not just of Treyball, but Daytonteam as well

lefty reliever up, a PH situation, but Trey’s in a spot where (he thinks, at least), he has to choose between pinch h itting for the one of the woirst hittersin history, or, even better, for the left-handed DH who can’t hit lefties (and isn’t very good vs. RHP, either)…

to top it off, the PH is a backup catcher

HECKUVA JOB, BOYS!

makes my soul hurt

"When you get behind in the count," Farnsworth said, "you go with a fastball. That’s what I did there, and that’s what he wants."

by tigergal on Jul 7, 2009 9:48 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I wonder if managers worry about their guys pitching to Olivo

you know how some people say that trying to hit a knuckleballer will screw up a guy’s swing?

I wonder if pitchers pitching to Miguel Olivo screws up their idea of what pitches a guy will/won’t swring at, and makes it harder for them to throw strikes for the next few outings.

want to work on a screwball? fine.

just no fastballs…….doesn’t even have to be close to the zone.
