on a random note, does anyone know where I can find an all star shersey for Grienke up in the KC area? I’m thinking about making a trip up that way tomorrow, might as well make a purchase while I’m there…right?

It's not totally absurd in Royal world to pay Guillen the $$$ he's making because
he averages 22 HRs a year and in Royals land where Steve f’ing Balboni still holds the team HRs title, 22 HRs = 40 HRs on a normal team.

were we realing playing polanco to bunt in the first fucking inning?
really?
where i'm "day-to-day" but i won't play again happens!
That seemed the main screw-up there.
I was expecting a throw to first from Teabag, and then the ball bounces over him as he’s 20 feet in front of third. Pretty half-assed by DDJ though.
by hunter s. royal on Jul 8, 2009 7:20 PM EDT up reply actions
I've come to the conclusion that DDJ just isn't very smart
he has great tools, some baseball abilities, but dang, he does some really stupid stuff. Getting caught off base, other bad base running decisions, and questionable defensive choices. Someone needs to slap him upside his head before the game.
"Things could always be worse." - Buddy Bell
I really think that DDJ gets a bad rap
I heard that Teahen was on 610 earlier today and both of those bad base running blunders were at Trey’s command. DDJ gets on base, he takes pitches, he makes some pretty spectacular catches. but he’s human, he’s going to screw up from time to time.
Love is the most important thing in the world, but baseball is pretty good too. ~Greg, age 8
by loyal2theroyals on Jul 8, 2009 7:35 PM EDT up reply actions
I would argue that he gets outs by bad baserunning more than
other Royals. Of course, one has to get on base first to make a base running blunder. I don’t discount his talent, I wonder about his focus.
"Things could always be worse." - Buddy Bell
Quite possible.
It also may be that he’s been so much better than other Royals regulars, he knows there’s no danger of getting in trouble for repeated half-ass play. He knows Mitch ain’t taking his job, or anybody else from the minors, so his blundering ways won’t get punished.

With constant baserunning blunders and routine mistakes such as the one in the first inning that DeJesus has made over the course of his career…..coupled with his obvious talents (LF defense….contact….some P.D.)…it’s evident that he is the epitomy of a talented player raised in an incompetent organization (2000, or whenever, to 2004).

His fastball has slightly iffy for a while
At the start of the year he was just PAINTING the corners, awesome stuff. No he isn’t quite commanding it as well. So he wither misses, hence the uptick in walks, or goes more over the middle, which means he gets hit harder.
Still very good, but not the level it was.

Has this been discussed?
Should we pickup BJ Ryan
Bloomquist. God? Or just an illusion? You be the judge.
Zack just getting unlucky with the hits, BABIP is sky high
K’s are still there, walks are low. Gonna be fine.

So much for Freel's wheels.
Slow roller to third, and he wasn’t very close to beating it out.
yeah i thought that too
his speed isn’t what it was…makes sense why he couldn’t get the ball in CF either
by GobbleforCyoung on Jul 8, 2009 8:28 PM EDT up reply actions
I think the Spork
would have at least made that close. Maybe Trey will punish the team next time he gets pissed by having them run 40 yard gassers in public and we can find out which old utility man has lost less of their speed.

Atleast if baseball fails
he will have a good Drive-and-Go Trailer Fast Food Joint named Freel’s Wheels
Bloomquist. God? Or just an illusion? You be the judge.
why doesnt this french guy play for us?
ohh wait if he did he would still be developing and would have already gave up 145,765 runs on the season. if zack cant beat this guy then no one can! he should pitch the all star game!!!
Is it a surprise that a guy named Clete uses Alabama for his walk-up music?

Well, since DMGM & Trey

haha so true,
I watched the WGN telecast of the game this last weekend, and stone said that billy will most likely accidently hit many homeruns in his career.

How sad is it
he could be 3 for 3 with 3 HR’s and 3 RBI’s
Bloomquist. God? Or just an illusion? You be the judge.
You know I'm sick of him.
He ONLY has 35 rbi's on the year. If he'd hit doubles with guys on base, that wouldn't happen.

Kansas City freeway loop
as a suburbanite, i’m not totally versed in the ways of the Kansas City downtown loop, so here is a question
I’m planning on going into Kansas on 35 and getting on at US24/I-35.
so should I go on the parts of the loop north/west of downtown, or the east/south part of the loop?
does it really matter to the overall mission of getting to I-35 southwest of the loop if I go on 70/35 or 70/670?

There was absolutely no way he was going to let BPJ play right… Wouldn’t the only other option be Jacobs to first, Butler to right?
