    why in the world

have we not DFA’d Ponson? the guy has got nothing, what are they looking at/for? i could understand bringing him in to see if he’s got anything left, low-risk move, etc. but at this point what use is there? i understand that the options in AAA aren’t great but there is Davies and DiNardo.

I think you give Davies one last shot at the rotation, if he bombs then you get him into the bullpen.

    A little OT, but

I want to tell everybody a quick story/anecdote about my 5-year old son and his 7-year old friend. Hopefully it will lift everyone’s spirits a little bit and make them forget this awful season for a while.

My wife told me that my son and his friend stayed out in the back yard for HOURS playing baseball, and they actually fought over who was going to be the Royals. When it was time to leave, my son’s friend had to stay around to watch the end of the inning of the Royals game before they left.

This same scene played out the next day with my son and I, as we played ball in the back yard and he was the Royals (he can actually name about half the team).

Look, this season really sucks. Everybody knows that. The greatest gift we can pass on to our kids is our passion for the team, to cultivate the next Royals fans that will hopefully be there to enjoy it when things get better. This will eventually turn around. It may not be next year, or ten years from now, but eventually it WILL turn around.

Kind of sappy, I know, but let’s keep the faith. Dayton may eventually go, but things will get better, I truly believe that.

That is AWESOME about you son, you, his friend and your post. Your a good man! :) Maybe someday you will have a post about you and your son going to his first playoff game. Better yet it will be awesome when that happens soon!
