A ChiSox Fan's Preseason Evaluation Of The Royals
I found this on a random search for something else entirely. I thought it was kind of interesting looking back at preseason expectations from a different point of view. I don't think this was linked here before.

Very well done Comprehensive, accurate and fair. The Royals should improve from their 75-win season in 2008, but not by a lot. Maybe 78 wins. Of course good or bad luck could push them up into the low 80’s or down into the low-to-mid 70’s. This likely isn’t a contending team, but more of a .500ish team. Not a pushover, but not a contender. Unless we see some real breakouts, the Royals will live and die with their pitching, which will be pretty good.

Too bad we didn’t expect the relief pitching to tank like it has or he would be about dead on.

I didn't expect the hitting to be this bad, nor did I expect this many injuries
Oh well.

Sigh.....
well I’m looking forward to each game, day by day. One game at a time.
I would just like to see Billy keep raking and Gordon to wake up. Greinke to settle down again, you know just the little things.
When super delayed gratification meets with underachieving veteran they laugh at the Royals, just a hypothesis though
