"We’ll get him back in," Hillman said. "We still want to see what we’ve got. But it’s still going to be a matter of trying to win ballgames by mixing and matching with what we think is going to be the best lineup for us to win."
Anderson has started just five of 10 games since joining the Royals and, after striking out Saturday as a pinch-hitter, has just four hits in 23 at-bats.
So, no, he hasn’t forced his way into the lineup, and Hillman appears unwilling to sit down any of a number of more productive hitters to create time for Anderson _ despite the club’s desire to make a long-term evaluation.
"You’ve got (Alberto) Callaspo with a good batting average and one of your better hitters," Hillman said. "Willie Bloomquist, at times, is good for two or three hits."
From the Star.
Can't sit Willie, might miss the night he has 2 or 3 hits.

Yes, six times. And he has been good for “two or three hits” 16 times overall.
Compare this to the to 62 games that he’s started in which he’s had no hits or one hit (counting by eye at b-r.com, because I forgot where to go to get it to generate information like this).
Classifying WB as among the “more productive” hitters is, of course, wrong, and justifying it by saying he occasionally has a good game is, of course, ridiculous. But it’s par for the course for this band of clowns, so I’m not even upset about it.

The Bloomquist line cracked me up
The guy’s got a OBP hovering around .300.

But a batting average around .300 is really good
So surely an OBP there is too right?

Daytrey Hillmoore... I like it
Treyton Mooreman is nice too. Is it just me, or does this team sound like it’s being run by someone with an 5th grade education?
I’ve stopped watching the games. If Moore and Hillman stick around another season, I may stop caring about the Royals. I can only give so much before I have nothing left.

Boy, Sam Mellinger must be laughing at us dumb bloggers right now
as if KC could have found a player with a sub-.300 wOBA and basd defense at almost every position anywhere!
I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at Driveline Mechanics.

Do not believe the numbers!
Trey knows from watching the games that Willie gets many hits and is an indispensable part of the lineup!

Remember that one time, TPJ won the game for us on Opening Day 2007?
Yeah, that kept him on the roster for 2 years. If a player has demonstrated a skill once, he OWNS that skill! So they were just waiting for it to resurface.

Control submarine; you just have to have faith it’s really down there.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.
