    ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. | The Royals shook up their rotation Sunday afternoon by designating veteran right-hander Sidney Ponson for assignment to clear space for Kyle Davies’ return to the big leagues.

    Davies will start Wednesday against Seattle at Kauffman Stadium.
