September Callups
I have been looking at our current 40 man roster to see if there is anyone worth taking a significant look at once rosters expand. The most noteable additions I could see are Kila, Rosa and Tug. I left Alex off the list because if this FO has any sense left he will man 3rd once he "clears his head/gets his joy back." I believe we have 3 or 4 empty spots on our 40 man. Is there anyone not on there currently that we should add? Not necessarily to protect from rule 5 but just to get them some major league time? I think Lenny Dinardo should certainly be added. His stats are very respectable for a terrible O Royals team. He could take Bale or Mahays place next year and probably not be any worse. There is also a older OF on the O Royals who we may take a look at I believe his name is Cory something. His stats look like he has had one of the better offensive years in Omaha. Also does anyone have information on what happened to Devon Lowery? He has not played at all this year. Henry Barrera also seems to have lost nearly the entire year. Any ideas on what' up with him?

Cory Aldridge?
What is up with Cory Aldridge? He is a 30 year old OF but is hitting .307/.352/.570 in Omaha. Odd that this whole situation has been so quiet.

He's been in the system for awhile
watched him play 2 years ago when he was in double A and he tore it up there. Think he’s been off and on with injuries but would love to see him have a shot in RF.

His numbers have been up and down over the last five years. Perhaps due to up and down health. His numbers make me think he would be fine at the MLB level as a 4th OF and reserve bat. I hope the Royals add him to the 40-man and take a look at him in September. It’s not like he would be stealing at-bats from hot prospects and superstars. In most of the games over the last two months DeJesus has been the only outfielder OPSing over .700.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Lubanski given a shot as well. He is a MiLB FA after this season. Sooner or later the team is going to have to decide if he is worth holding on to as AAAA reserve. He’s had another poor year but, call me crazy, I still have a spark of hope remaining that he will finally put it all together.
I really wish Shealy were healthy. I’d love to see him on the team again.

I Alrdige is an ex-Brave, brought in to fill in for all the OF injuries in Omaha
Lowery is out for the year – forget the injury. Too bad, I thought he might be able to contribute at the MLB level this year.

I would have said Lubanski & Parraz
in addition to Kila & Rosa. Maybe Chris Hayes too?
Problem – Lubanski & Parraz are apparently injured and haven’t played much lately. Combine that with Guillen coming back (damn it), and the organization’s apparent commitment to looking at Maier & Anderson the rest of the year, and it’s probably doubtful Moore will want to look at either of these two outfielders.
Do I agree? Of course not – it’s the Royals, so whatever they decide to do is most likely wrong.
See Rany’s latest post – not only have ZERO players made their ML debuts for a 100 loss team, in addtion only ONE guy younger than 25 (Butler) has seen any significant playing time. If that doesn’t bode well for the immediate future, I don’t know what does.
Mr Glass, this is a pro sports team, not a retail store - run it like one!

Guillen, the gift that just keeps on giving.

I've seen all I need to see of Josh Anderson
He’s not even half a WIllie Bloomquist.
In fact, we should just call him The Spoon. It doesn’t quite have the utility of a spork, but it does do one thing well (speed).

also because...
Im sure Hilldawg and Anderson spoon before and after games, its the only logical answer for all of his playing time

He was our big Trade Deadline move
So he has to play if we have any hope of getting back into this race.

Look, I'm tired of all this pessimism and cynicism.
If the Royals can just manage to go 34-4 the rest of the way, they’ll finish .500. So all they have to do is improve on that by four games, and they’ll win 85, and that should be enough to compete in this division!

Interesting point, you've converted me
After all, this has been a really good team this year if you can overlook the injuries and players that have underperformed. We’re just a CF and SP away.

Give Hillman some credit
He’s not playing Anderson very much. Maybe Hillman doesn’t think speed = good centerfielder, which must cause some very awkward conversations with DMGM.

Yeah, Hillman gets a lot of blame for not handling the bullpen very well
but really, when your choices are Douche and Turd Sandwich, no one wins.
