"The guys were giving me a hard time about my running, but that's the way I play. I like to respect the game."
-- Guess who just earned himself some extra playing time, Brayan Pena. This was his comment about running out his home run, almost running up the back of Mark Teahen. (btw, the recap managed to misspell "Teahan" throughout.)

Well he's gotta earn it somehow, Trey doesn't notice actual good things he does
Trey notices hustle and grit, and that run around the bases smacks of it.
Pena’s got 5 homers in 112 ABs. He’d hit around 18 at this pace, if he was given 400 ABs. His current OPS+ is 121. I wish Pena’s defense was better, but I love his bat so far. I know it’s small sample size, but maybe they can start to think about getting rid of Buck or Olivo or both.
let's hope.
a team like the royals can’t afford 2 mediocre-at-best catchers who have high salaries like Buck and Olivo
