Game 128 Open Thread - Royals (49-78) at Mariners (66-62)
Kansas City Royals at Seattle Mariners, Aug 28, 2009 10:10 PM EDT
Brian Bannister against King Felix. Sure, it doesn't look good, but as this is a rivalry game, I think we can throw out the records, the pitching matchups, everything.
I predict a game-winning, upper-deck, grand slam by St. Willie.

ESPN Streak for the cash actually has...
who will score less runs
Royals vs King Felix
or
Rox vs Lincecum
Desperately hoping for Desperate Measures
i saw that....
always seems Royals lose when their posted on Streak…..I didn’t want to touch it with my current streak of 8, however.

From Poz's last post:
They are also — and I admit this is an unofficial stat but I’m pretty confident about it — the league leader in times a player forgot the number of outs. The other day, catcher Miguel Olivo ran off the field with two outs which was staggering not because it was unusual (it has to be the third time this year Olivo has forgotten the number of outs) but because only two batters had come to the plate. It wasn’t like it was a long inning or something.
Not only did Olivo jog off the field after 2 outs. Later in the game he threw down to 3rd after a strikeout with a runner on 2nd. It almost took Teahen’s head off. Good thing he’s playing over Pena again.
He can get 4, NOT 5.

I still maintain it was not such a bad idea to trade middle relievers (Ramon Ramirez and Leo Nunez) for every-day players (Coco Crisp and Mike Jacobs). Signing Jose Guillen, Ron Mahay, Horacio Ramirez, Kyle Farnsworth and Willie Bloomquist were more predictably bad.

doesn't that show how bad he knows his bat is.
He’s trying to get on 1st with 2 outs, knowing it will most likely take 2 hits to score him.
Not likely at all.
He can get 4, NOT 5.

ah, such a common mistake.
Cold-blooded would mean he wouldn’t need the jacket. He’d be able to raise his body temperature according to the weather.
He can get 4, NOT 5.
But he's in Seattle, so it can't be that warm
and Since Im sure they dont keep heat lamps in the dugout he has to result the Royals Parka

They need to be warm for certain biological tasks,
because their body temperature fluctuates with the air around them.

I propose a rule change
If a guy walks a guy in, the preceding pitcher shouldn’t get the run charged to him.
Although, Banny’s the one who gave up two hits and a single.
Maybe I retract my proposal.

It's SAN migration season at the data center
And I’m one of the lucky ones who gets to help with that.
Now for those unfamiliar, that’s where you take a server that has its storage on one set of hard drives and move it to an entirely different, typically newer and faster, set of drives. Now you start by… hey! Is that snoring I hear?!? Aw, c’mon. It’s not that boring. Well, actually it is, but still… ;)
