Happy Zac-- err Lenny DiNardo day!

Oh, and apparently Meche is done for the year and Banny is going for a second opinion. Put that together with Hochevar’s pitch tipping and it’s shaping up to be another banner day in Royalsville

by sterlingice on Sep 10, 2009 1:32 PM EDT reply actions

But, hey, Lenny is Royal #700!

So there’s something

And I just caught up with the Cortes-DGut Facebook thing and that was funny :)

by sterlingice on Sep 10, 2009 1:36 PM EDT up reply actions

So basically

As it stands, Our rotation is basically:

Lenny “AAAA” DiNardo
Robinson “Walk or K” Tejeda
Luke “I’m going to throw a fastball” Hochevar
Kyle “I’m flattering to deceive again” Davies
Zack “Doesn’t know how to win” Greinke

Awesome. This process shit is good.

by kcbottom9th on Sep 10, 2009 1:45 PM EDT reply actions

That actually beats the rotation description from, I think it was Soren, a couple of years ago

Injured (could be anyone)
Overpaid (see above)
Fat (Runelvys)
Crazy (Zack)
and something like Inexperienced or Unproven, I think

Lineup fail

After 3 games with Maier batting 2nd (all wins) – Bloomquist is back in the 2 hole. Out of the 18 runs we’ve scored, Mitch has scored 5. Isn’t it nice to have someone on base ahead of Billy (BTW – 8 RBI in the 3 games)!

Yikes

That just makes it an even worse “lineup fail” than I originally thought.

Then, of course, Olivo is in the spot behind Billy. So now, we’ve surrounded our hottest hitter with 2 guys that have trouble getting on base. Lenny better pitch a shutout – it might be his only hope of getting a no-decision.

I had hopes for him last year.

I thought he might be the starting center fielder this year. I was very unhappy when the Royals agreed to allow the Red Sox to unload Coco Crisp’s contract on the Royals. Partially because Coco was way overpaid, and partially because I thought Mitch would probably play almost as well as Coco if given the chance. So I feel kinda vindicated by his play over the last month.
