Game 141 Open Thread - Royals (55-85) at Indians (60-79)

Kansas City Royals at Cleveland Indians, Sep 11, 2009 7:05 PM EDT

Zack Greinke v. Justin Masterson as the Royals go for their fourth (!) straight win. Let's have a super early game thread in honor of Greinke.

Suggestions for next year's Cleveland Indians promotional campaign after the jump...

So Greinke

Pitches 8 innings, 1ER 12 K 1BB

Roman Colon blows the save. He got the chance because “Trey looked in his eyes and saw someone who wanted to right the wrong of his last appearance”

I don’t know why I am so pessimistic.

Kansas City Royals: your 2006 and 2007 NL Central champions!

by mazoboom on Sep 11, 2009 5:33 PM EDT up reply actions

Not nearly pessimistic enough

Allow me to paint a picture:
its a 0-0 tie through 8. Gordon come up and hits a long ball making it 1-0 before uni grounds out to end the inning.
Greinke goes 8 scoreless innings, hes thrown 125 pitches, but Trey sees something in his eyes and sends him out for the 9th.
On the first pitch Zack serves a tater right down the middle to Hafner who knocks it out of the park, but the cameras are only focused on one thing, zack, on the ground, clutching his elbow.
Then Trey sends out Jamey, because he needs to get his work in, who then proceeds to give up 3 singles and walks in the winning run.
After the game GMDM blames butler for not turning a 3-6-3 in the 3rd inning as costing them the game and vows to send him and gordon(rally killer) down to AA next season along with Kila Ka’aihoue(because his Avg wasn’t high enough)

I refuse to set up a signature....DAMMIT

he dove and wasnt there...

there’s not a scorer on the planet that would call that an error… now the kick off the wall, that might have been one…

where's ross gload to explode the process?

Just saw the replay on Gameday

You’re right, he wasn’t there. He dove but the ball hit the ground first in front of him, then bounced up and hit the glove.

yeah where the hell is that "questionable scoring" now

first he boots the ball to hell for a triple, then can’t catch that one

Does Cleveland only hit balls to left field?

DDJ having a horrible and tremendous game all in one. Two should be errors that give up the lead then two assists on outs at the plate. Joakin Andujar summed it up when he said baseball can be described in two words, you never know.
