Will we?
I’m not sure I trust the brainiacs that had Mike Moustakas rated higher than Matt Wieters to take Bryce Harper.

Don't mention that on the Pirates message board
All you’ll hear is “Well, we’re still better than the Royals. Even if our current record is worse. And even if we didn’t have even a fluke .500 season in 17 years. Royals suck! Royals suck!”
Few things make me wish we made that switch to the NL Central more than that.

Fun offseason ahead...
what with all the Front Office crowing about how the true measure of this team was its strong September showing (“We finished ahead of a couple other teams overall and look how we didn’t quit!”) and of course our 18-11 start.
On that point, doesn’t it seem the Royals brass use 18-11 the same way Rudy Giuliani used 9-11? Ask any question, raise any criticism and the answer is the same: “18-11!”
Baseball's that swingy stick game, right?

Do you mean Pitino instead of Giuliani?
I used to work with an old man that told me. Son, every workplace has a dumbass, if you don't have one where you work, then I'm afraid you're it.
So Far
We are 4-4 in the LAST 29 games of the season…
It is my greatest wish that we will begin AND end the season on 18-11 stretches, so I am hoping for a 14-7 streak to finish to the year :)
With Lanny DiNardo going 4-0 with a 1 something ERA, so we can go into next year talking about how “We’ve got the #3 spot in the rotation figured out!”
BOOM! ROASTED!

I was really hoping
that one redeeming quality of this awful season would be drafting Bryce Harper next year. I guess I’ll have to settle for Zack winning the Cy Young.

general disgruntled-ness
would be all that’s left.
Jose Guillen + Mike Jacobs + Sidney Ponson + Horacio Ramirez + Kyle Farnsworth + Willie Bloomquist + Yuniesky Betancourt + |Coco Crisp + Juan Cruz| = four year extension.

The consolation prize for Harper:
Jameson Tallion is supposed to be a very special HS pitcher. He is a very worthy #2 (could even be called #1b). However, the Royals, for reasons not understood by me, have stated that they are now looking mainly at college players. If I had to guess, I would say we would take LSU pitcher Anthony Ranaudo—a safe pick without huge upside.
gotta go with the hitter!
Bentz!!
Coffee. The NEW Performance Enhancing drug for Sport's Writers. Just ask Ken Rosenthal.
I'd assume they're looking at college players
because three years in and we don’t have a Dayton-draftee hitting above A+. (Unless I’m forgetting someone — Lough, maybe?)
