David DeJesus Saves the Royals Twice on Another Bummer Greinke Non-Support Night
Props to David DeJesus. I fully expect a somehow negative appraisal from the Star sports team tomorrow.
Miggie O with the game winner. Royal pride.

how the hell we won that is beyond me
we had 4 combined innings of Farnsworthless and Wright in a tie game, that’s begging to lose…

I'm sorry I missed the game
I was at a bar-be-que, dirinking Blue Moon instead. It saved me from being really cranky (again) about the lack of support for my favorite Royal, having to squirm through 2 innings of Farnsy and 2 of Wright, survive 2 throw outs at home by imminent Gold Glover DDJ, and having to appreciate Olivo’s good game. I was driving home from the party, turned on the radio hoping to catch a bit of the post-game, and it was the top of the 12th, right after Miggy’s GWHR. So, I got to hear Soria’s save. Great game. Let’s go for 6!

umm...are we failing to remember that the reason that the indians scored at all is because davey fucked up like 3 times on one play?

oh....and i'd love to hear the explanation as to why davey wasnt given an error....
on that play in the 7th..which would have made zacks run unearned

yeah that was a horrible play for DDJ
1) running too close to the wall and letting the ball carom off 60 feet away from him
2) trying to pick it up with his glove and fumbling it

I notice that the Royals won once
Alex Gordon and his bad attitude were taken out of the game.

Can't tell if your sarcasm meter is on...
Gordon played well. He got down a sacrifice bunt which advanced a runner. Later he walked and Yuni failed to execute a bunt to move him to second. Lifted for Anderson to pinch run who stole second.

Sac bunt
Well, that’s GRIT!!! Apparently, Gordon did learn how to Trust The Process down in Omaha.

Greinke Cy Young watch?
If Zack gets his ERA below 2, I don’t think there’s any way he avoids the Cy Young even if he ends at 13-10. Tho we might hear some more stupid “Mariano for Cy Young” crap. Even the stat neophytes love ERA and below 2 is hard to ignore. Tho, again, if MLBN is any indication, we’d get idiots like Harold Reynolds talking about how CC’s and Halladay’s ERAs in the AL East are better than Zack’s in the Central.
As it stands, he has 50 ERs in 205.1 IPs for a 2.19 ERA. So, if my calculations are correct, he’d need 21 scoreless innings to drop to 1.99. Giving up just 1 run, requires him to stretch out to 25.1 innings, 2 runs is 30 innings flat, and 3 runs is 34.1. Beyond that, we’re getting out beyond what he can conceivably pitch.
By my count, if they go every 5th game, here’s Zack’s remaining schedule:
Sept 17th @ Det
Sept 22nd vs Bos
Sept 27th vs Min
Oct 3rd @ Min
There are 2 off days and those could throw a wrinkle in things
Mon Sept 14th
Thurs Oct 1st
