Good for him... he even uses the phrase "it isn't fun anymore." [(c) Will McDonald] That's not to say I'm glad he's done writing for the season -- that sucks, and I'll miss him. But at least now he's where many of were at last offseason regarding Dayton Moore's "abillities."

The increasing stories of inability to handle criticism are depressing and predictable. I urge any media members who happen to be reading this to continue pushing the boundaries as far as you can without getting "banned." Remember -- you could be next.

No matter how many vision-challenged and "locker room leaders" Dayton Moore drafts, this teams will never legitimately compete until a new GM is in. I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't want to wait a season, or even a day longer. I've "watched this guy GM everyday." He sucks. As NYRoyal said, "Next."

Sadly, I think the Royals FO

is probably having a victory celebration right now. We got rid of a negator! They believe the less light shed on this organization the better.(They’re certainly right about that)
I enjoyed Rany’s columns, and will miss reading them, but he was clearly a little too thin-skinned to follow the blunders of Moore & Hillman.

I wonder how Neyer feels about this...

This whole season is really a great case study

for how a team can systematically and completely break the will of an intelligent fan

So true.

I used to work with an old man that told me. Son, every workplace has a dumbass, if you don't have one where you work, then I'm afraid you're it.

I'm with you Steve!

They’ll probably assassinate Will first, so we’ll have a warning shot anyway.

I loved that post

You can sense the anger in it.

Sucks that he is going to stop, majorly, but who can blame him?

It’s just another sign of people switching off. Remember when spring training games had two overflow threads? Now a regular season game does well to get 150 comments. Royals forums have tumbleweed blowing through them, blogs go weeks without updating. The few people that stick around are all nearly suicidal (joke, but you know what I mean), it’s all incredibly sad.

it is a sad state of affairs no doubt

hopefully DM will redeem himself this offseason and this is just a (significant) blip.

Lots of information in the article

Probably the best part:

people in the Mariners’ own front office have said they would have done the trade for Derrick Saito alone

Or that Dayton contacted Keith Law himself

Doesn’t surprise me at all.

I think that's questionable

just because it is really stupid to publicly embarass someone you would probably like to fleece again down the road…

Happens all the time

“someone” talks to someone else. No one would put their name to it, thats just the way it goes, but people speak off the record all the time.

He'll be back

They always come back.
