Well, we have a new second place team.  The Royals have lost their hold on the number 2 overall pick in the 2010 June Draft.  This is either disappointing or good, depending on your viewpoint.

Last week:  Washington 3-3;  Pittsburgh 1-5; Kansas City 6-1; Baltimore 2-3; Arizona 1-5; Cleveland 1-5; Mets 1-5; Oakland 3-2; San Diego 4-2; Toronto 4-3; Cincinnati 1-6.

Hot:  Your Kansas City Royals are the hottest team on this list going 6-1 during the last week with a solid win streak.  With Washington winning 3 games during the week, a few other teams were able to pick up a few games.  Toronto and San Diego also continue to push away from the top spot and drop in the slotted bonuses.

Not:  Pittsburgh has been on fire, that is if you want to be losing.  Since having a fire sale they've made up a lot of ground and if Washington continues with their decent play, could sneak through and steal Bryce Harper.  Arizona, Cleveland (who ran into a hot KC team), the Mets, and Cincinnati were the four teams to only win one game during the week.

Royals:  After having one of the best weeks of their season, the 2009 Kansas City Royals dropped/gained one place moving to third overall behind the Pittsburgh Pirates.  For the upcoming week, the Royals face six games on the road splitting three between Detroit and Chicago.  Looking at starters, the Royals have listed Tejeda (vs. Washburn); DiNardo (vs. TBA, hey, I thought he pitched for us!); Grienke (vs. Edwin Jackson in what looks to be a good day game get-away day); Hochevar (vs. Danks); Davies (vs. TBA); and TBA (vs. TBA looking like Tejeda vs. Freddie Garcia?).   With these matchups, we could have a solid week again.  Couple that with the road play, and we might be in trouble.  I'm really worried about the Thursday travel day matchup with Grienke.  Travel days tend to be half efforts and with our Cy Young candidate on the mound, we need a more than half effort!
