Our starting shortstop in 1969
He was so bad, fans were like “hey let’s get rid of this guy! ANYONE could be better than Jackie Hernandez!” which led us to decades of guys like Onix Concepcion, Angel Salazar, David Howard, Neifi Perez, Angel Berroa, Tony Pena Jr. and now Yunieski Betancout.

He had the 4th and 7th worst seasons at SS in Royal's history
I still remeber when people wanted Rey Sanchez out for a real SS.

I remember that fans behind the first base dugout always brought their gloves
because they knew Jackie was going to wing one right to them at some point in the proceedings. Strong arm but an otherwise terrible player.

In considering the SS 'problem' the Royals have, would this suggest...
the Royals suffer from the curse of Jackie Hernandez?
I bet he put a hex on the SS position. That is the ONLY logical explanation.
