Around SBN: Jeremy Lin Sets Assist High In Easy Win Over Sacramento

I take full responsibility for what's going on... The team's not playing well. Obviously we're not happy with that, but someone has to be held accountable and I accept that responsibility.

Please rephrase in the form of a question...

NCAA Football; better than everything. That is an understatement.

There was just an article that was linked on this very site where DM

said he holds himself accountable.

I guess you could read JP's quote above

as blaming the players even though he says he’s taking responsibility. I guess he’s talking about poor performances like Aaron Hill and Roy Halladay?

Or is it because of anchors like Vernon Wells and Alex Rios, or is it the continual pitcher injuries that obviously are just “bad luck”, unlike our team where the injuries are the direct fault of the training staff?

Dogma and pablum, really its all it is at this point. The people that don’t like DM were never going to like him because he is not stat-oriented, but conveniently look past similar faults in other GM’s that happen to espouse stats.

When I decide to call for DM’s head it will be because his performance warranted it, not because of a predisposed dislike to a certain way of doing things.

Honestly, I don't think so

but it’s getting close. Look, I’m no management expert, and maybe I’m way off. My take is that you’ve hired what was considered at the time the best GM prospect out there, and there have been a lot of good moves. Just because there have been bad moves doesn’t mean you fire the guy yet. You have got to give him enough time, in my humble opinion, to at least get a good read on the minor leagues and what’s happened there.

Having said that, he HAS to make some significant changes to the way he does things, and some significant changes to his thought process. You can’t fail the way this team has failed and not make some changes. I would start by firing Trey Hillman and Dave Owen, although a lot of roster turnover needs to happen too.

If there aren’t significant changes this offseason and we don’t see some things done differently, then I am going to be right there on the bandwagon with everybody else, leading the charge to get his ass fired (not that it’s going to matter one whit).

that all makes sense if his good moves were even close in number/importance as his bad moves....

and if his ‘good read’ on the minor leagues in the form of $10 million on the last two first round picks were performing then we might be able to talk.

JP needs more time

He’s only been there seven years. Trust the process.

When J.P. Ricciardi comes off as having more class and character than yourself, you really need to take a step back and reconsider your behavior.

Ricciardi is pretty well a certified douchbag, and yet he seems to be schooling Dayton Moore on professional responsiblity.
