Game 159 Open Thread - Royals (64-94) at Yankees (102-56)

One last time to watch Robinson Tejeda.

With this ballpark and lineup

this might be the game when Tejeda’s insanely low 2.6% HR/FB rate finally regresses toward 10-11%, much like his walk rate as a starter in his last outing.

And, yes, by brining this up, I hope to jinx it from happening.

A small sample size alert applies, but one positive from the move from the pen to the rotation is that Tejeda has maintained a decent swinging strike rate — 13.6% as a reliever to 11.7% as a starter. His ball rate has stayed right at 38%. The lack of control and fly ball tendencies will limit his upside as a starter, but if he maintains the strikeouts with keeping the walks relatively in check, he might make it as a fourth starter type.

wha?

I guess that I learned the wrong definition of “accountability”. After Anderson failed to run on that popped up bunt, why in the F#$!#$# H$%% is he in the lineup today!
