Last week: Washington 1-5; KC 1-5; Pittsburgh 1-6; Baltimore 2-4; San Diego 5-1; Cleveland 2-4; Arizona 2-5; Oakland 4-3; Toronto 2-5; Mets 3-3; Cincinnati 7-0
HOT!: Cincinnati pulled off a perfect week going 7-0! I guess they are in a "win-now" mode? San Diego went 5-1. They are also in a "win-now" mode. Both teams must have had a rousing speech from their owner before the week about dropping in the draft so they don't have to pay out a $6 million bonus and can perhaps get a steal.
NOT: Washington, KC, and Pittsburgh all had one win on the week. These teams are trying to move up in the rankings as not to lose out on those $6 million signing bonuses.
We welcome two new teams to the watch list and will probably say goodbye to the Reds in the next week. Welcome New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays! I guess the Jays would probably be higher in the draft if they didn't have Roy Halladay winning all those games for them....
The week ahead for the Royals? Angels (1), Tigers (3), and Indians (3). According to MLB.com, our starting pitchers for the week are Davies Monday, Chen Tuesday, Tejeda Wednesday, and TBA the rest of the week. Grienke will get one start and if we stay true to form, Davies and Chen will get two a piece.
Hmmmm.... I guess we're in the making for another week like the last..... Good luck Royals! Let's win!

Does anyone know why it kills my excel charts? :( It’s really annoying.

FanPosts don't accept cut-and-paste charts
in my experience, anyway. You pretty much have to go into HTML and code them yourself, or at least copy-and-paste the html codes from a similar view in another program.
Don’t know if this is a setting controlled by SBNation or each blog’s mod.

I used that feature where you create a chart that's built in....
? Oh well, It’ll just look weird.

In other news
Dayton Moore has offered TBA a incentive-laden, 2 year, $10M 2010-2011 contract with a $5M club option for 2012 and a chance to compete for the 2010 starting rotation.
TBA, who has bounced around the minor leagues this season, previously had stints as a pitcher for Seattle and Atlanta.

lol.
That is awesome! Seriously though, when does Grienke throw?

Forgot the picture from the press conference

I’m sure Greinke will throw… but Ducky has to get at least one turn, right?

The Nats had that hot streak a few weeks ago.
That was our best shot!

Their hitters are good enough they could go off at any time
I’m confident the Royals can catch them. Did you see the schedule?
DET x3
CLE x 3 away
DET x 3 away
CWS x 3 away
BOS x 4
MIN x 3
NYY x 3 away
MIN x 3 away
I can’t see the Royals winning more than 5 games out of 26. The Nats just need to win 10, and the Royals overtake them.
The Nationals have
3 vs. Phili
3 @ Florida
3 @ Phili
3 @ NYMets
3 vs. Dodgers
3 vs. Braves
3 vs. NYMets
4 @ Atlanta
It could be tough…

The Mets are only 1.5 games better than Cleveland
The Nats are 21-29 since July 14th which I believe was the ASG (as well as my daughter’s birthday). The Royals are 15-34. At that pace, the Royals win 7-8 games, and the Nats win 10-11. A little more underperformance by the Royals, and a little overperformance by the Nats will take care of it. Philly just got swept (lost 4 in a row), Florida’s bullpen is bad (5-5 in last 10), the Mets are awful, the Dodgers are good, Braves have lost their last 5. The Royals face first place division or wild card teams 13 times, the Nats just 9.
KEEP HOPE ALIVE!

Very true. Good post.
But… by winning last night, we’ve used up one of your 7 games! :( lol
