Who will be the 700th player in Royals History?
The next player to make their debut for the Royals will be the 700th player (to see game action) in Royals history. Will it happen this year? Probably. I guess we will have a better idea when the call-up list is released. Who do you think it will be?
Just need a few more words to get to the minimum. Royals Royals Royals Royals Royals. Trusting the Process since 2006. Royals Royals Royals Royals

Was anyone else surprised
to see the total # of players to play for KC was only 700? That struck me as a really low # for some reason.
No wonder our top 100 list was so weak at the bottom…
BOOM! ROASTED!
It does seem low
But then if you think about it and assume between 40 and 50 players per year (some years less, very few more), that’s about 1,800 individual seasons in the franchise’s history. Then take into account that those rosters include players who were here multiple seasons and it actually makes a little sense.
If I had a rocket ship, I'd never want to land.
And the fact that
the roster was EXTREMELY stable through the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Correct
once I started thinking about it, it seemed about right, but this initial sight of “700th Player in Royals History” seemed silly, like something that probably happened years ago.
BOOM! ROASTED!
Definitely a lot more in the past 20 years
In the Royals first 21 seasons (through 1989) there were 278 different players in Royals history. In the next 20 years there have been 421.
Definitely voted for all the X-Braves on the list...

Or maybe he'll talk about Lenny's old teammate
Santiago Casilla. Is there anyone among us that hasn’t heard Ryan talk about the name change from Jairo Garcia back to his real name? Every damn time he pitches.
He was called up today
Along with Gordon. I assume he’ll start Thursday night? I’ve heard nothing else about any other rookie getting called up.
If you look closely, it really says "CentralChamps2012."

Looks like it'll be Lenny
Unless some freak accident causes him to be scratched from today’s start.

The 7000 Greatest Royals of All-Time - #700 Lenny DiNardo
LHP Lenny DiNardo
![]()
Great? The Greatest? Best of all-time? None of these terms have ever been used to describe left-handed journeyman Lenny DiNardo. And yet, on September 10, 2009, he could finally call himself a Kansas City Royal.
For five innings, the valiant southpaw held the first place Tigers in check, yielding just two runs in an afternoon game. While his bullpen would forsake him, as his velocity had years before, Lenny left knowing he had finally made it to KC.

How do you know its the 700th player?
Baseball Reference only lists us having 695 players in history – Dinardo would be 696.
