Did anyone run in the Royals 5K?
I saw that the Royals were holding a 5K this past Saturday and I thought it'd be fun. It benefited Royals Charities and the Autism Awareness fund. The race ran around the Truman Sports Complex (no sight of Pioli or Haley as we neared Arrowhead) but the best part was we got to finish the race running around the warning track! We entered the stadium through the Royals bullpen. As I passed through the bullpen, all I could think about was the greatness that had come from this area throughout the course of this season (or something like that). All in all, I had a great time and am looking forward to running the race again next year.
The one part I thought everyone here would find funny are some of the free prizes they gave out to all participants:

Look who I got my picture with after the race..... (HINT: He is the most popular person on this blog!)

For those of you who don't have facebook, the free prize was a Tony Pena Jr. bobblehead!!!! (no, I'm not kidding) I am wondering how much I can get on eBay for the bobblehead (I better hold on to it and wait until he becomes our 5th starter out of Spring Training next year... buy low/sell high, right?) The other link is to a picture I got with Dayton Moore. He seemed to be a nice guy. I thought about inviting him to read the Royals Review blog but I figured it'd be best for his health not to!

I was there and saw Dayton Moore
I ran the 5K on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. They did a great job. It was well organized. The only thing missing were some players to greet us at the finish line!
I also saw Dayton Moore with his family. He stood near us during the awards ceremony. He was very nice. My friend and I laughed hysterically when we saw the TPJ bobbleheads in our registration bag.
is that picture of TPJ of him pitching?
looks like he is throwing a curve ball. if so, that would add value

I was going to run it but about a month ago I tweaked my knee...
So I plan to run it next year and I will wear a home made www.royalsreview.com shirt.

One of the food vendors
ran in this; he wore a shirt that said:
KC Royals
Always Rebuilding…
Always
(With the Wal-Mart logo on it to boot)
He claims that Moore was there, and actually saw his shirt when he talked to him – but didn’t acknowledge it.
Obviously, he didn’t let on that he actually worked at the K.
Mr Glass, this is a pro sports team, not a retail store - run it like one!
that is amazing.
