Part 2 of the Quest for the so-called RH Power Bat, which I am assuming would be in the OF until convinced otherwise. In Part 1, we fancied the free agents who might be available and would qualify as "RH Power Bats" by my arbitrary measure (Pat Burrell, Michael Cuddyer, Vlad Guerrero, Jose Guillen, Bill Hall, Andruw Jones, Magglio, Manny, Jayson Werth).
Many of you pointed out that I left Austin Kearns off of this list. He is an example of the line I have drawn; if DM signs Kearns it's not necissarily a bad signing. But if he signs Kearns and calls him the fabled RH Power Bat, then I shall laugh heartily.
So on to the players who are not eligible for free agency but may be available this offseason if their current team decides not to offer them a contract/arbitration. This actually makes making this list pretty difficult unless I include everyone, regardless of whether or not I think there's even an inkling they might be 'available.' So feel free to bash me for names left off...
The Arbys:
Carlos Quentin (28): .251 / .347 / .488
Ryan Ludwick (32): .266 / .337 / .476
Cody Ross (30): .265 / .323 / .466
Nelson Cruz (30): .273 / .336 / .502
(Listed because with the Rangers' financial state, anything can happen this offseason)
Jeff Francouer (27): .268 / .310 / .425
(Frenchie doesn't meet my arbitrary RHPB threshold, but he DID hit 29 one year, just like Mike Jacobs hit a lot once upon a time. Plus, it's Frenchie)
Other arbitration-eligible RHPB's extremely likely to go nowhere:
Adam Jones, Luke Scott, Ryan Raburn, Hunter Pence, B.J. Upton, Jose Bautista, Josh Willingham
