Gammons on Twitter quoting agent:" Pirates, Royals offering big. This is a great market."
Here is the whole tweet:
Agent:"3 years Buck, Benoit. Pirates, Royals offering big. This is a great market. Angels, Red Sox, Mets could be left behind"
I have no idea who we could be offering big on, I'm a little scared.

this only makes sense if were making a surprise huge offer for Crawford or Werth
otherwise i don’t see how this affects the Red Sox and Angels and Mets.
either that or the agent is just spewing bullshit to raise the price of his FA’s.

Great question.
I don’t speak Twitter very well, but I think it means that the Royals are making big offers in the free agent market. What could possibly go wrong?

what’s the “3 years Buck, Benoit” part about?

I think the agent is referring to it being a good market
Buck and Benoit getting three years, coupled with the Pirates and Royals offering big=a great market for free agents.
Part of me thinks this is all just agent posturing but I’m not sure how much good it does if you don’t say that the Royals/Pirates are offering big for a particular player.
I really, really hope we're not offering Jayson Werth something like a Guillen contract

I hope that, too
although Werth will probably be more valuable than that to some team. No point for the Royals, though.

I wouldn't mind them breaking the bank for Crawford but
no one else

But I'd bet my left arm it is a pitcher of some sort

BOOM! ROASTED!
My guesses...
(not who I would sign…who I think GMDM would be actively pursuing…)
Bronson Arroyo
Erik Bedard
Jeremy Bonderman
Jorge De La Rosa
Jeff Francis
Jon Garland
Kevin Millwood
Carl Pavano
Brad Penny
Brandon Webb
Dontrelle Willis
Chris Young
BOOM! ROASTED!
It's Not Willis

In fairness to GMDM,
A Frenchy-Dyson-Werth OF would be out-fucking-standing.
If We Could
Sign Werth to Hoagy’s contract I’d be OK with it, but he’ll probably get more years and more per year from someone. He’ll probably decline some, but he’ll almost certainly be better in 3 years than Hoagy was in 2007.

But does Werth have an connections to Steroids and HGH?

Werth is really the type of OF we need.
Athletic, good defensively, solid power. He’s a little old, but he would certainly be a better fit than Guillen.
