There are two ex-Royals on the upcoming year's BBWAA ballot. For those who have not yet looked: can you guess who they are?
Hint: they played for the Royals in the same year.

You need to have been in the majors 10 years
to ever be eligible as a player.

Had to look at the list to see who was eligible
but the two names certainly jumped out. Or hobbled out, to be more precise.
Appier and Monty?
Don’t really fall into the “hobbled” category, so I’m guessing its someone more awesome.

Aha
Yes, “hobbled” indeed.
Other amazing names on the list: Bob Higginson, Kirk Rueter, Charles Johnson, and Lenny Freaking Harris.

At a Royals' Charities event a while ago...
…they had a box of autographed balls that apparently had recently been found in some dark corner of Kauffman. They were selling them off for $10 each. I dug around in the box a little and noticed that there were a ton of Juan Gone autographs. I’m not surprised that no one in KC was buying those up… after I got home, it occurred to me that a Juan Gone autograph might be worth more than $10 on ebay, though… d’oh.
The bidding typically starts at 4.99, actually.

New balls cost more than $5.
Maybe you should start working on a way to wash the autograph off.

2004 wasn't it.
The Royals brought in a bunch of vets for a push after getting over 0.500 in 2003

And
without the PEDs, both Gonzalez and Santiago fell apart. The Royals couldn’t even cheat right.
