The contract terms are in. 1 year for $2.5M with some kind of incentives which could push it up another $500K. And there is a mutual option for 2012 at $3M $4M.
After something like 800 comments, the original thread is full, and full of lots of angst, vitriol and snark. But I think that's appropriate. Sure over the last three years, Jeff Francoeur -- as a full-time player -- has fewer WAR than Mitch Maier -- as a part-time player, but I'm sure Frenchy has massive intangibles of which we can only dream. Oh well, it has been hours since we found out about it, so now that we've taken a breath, does the signing look any better?

What do you think of the Jeff Francoeur signing?
Spectacular. He's a good value for the money with a good deal of upside. (45 votes)
Good. He's an ok player and young enough to still have a little upside potential. (105 votes)
Meh. He's not particularly good, but he is somewhat useful and the contract was pretty small. (277 votes)
Bad. He sucks and it doesn't help the team. Another clear screw-up by Moore. (157 votes)
Awful. He's barely replacement level and probably makes the team worse and even at $2.5M, he's way overpaid. (214 votes)
