Getz now listed as the starter at 2B on the Official Depth Chart
I believe this is a fairly recent development, though not entirely unexpected. I would really, really hope they can either find a way to get Callaspo onto the field or trade him for something decent. Neither looks like much of a possibility.

I'm more disappointed that Guillen is still listed as the #1 DH.
Keep telling myself that spring training will fix that.
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.

Isn't It Insane
To list Poddy as the #2 CF ahead of DDJ? DDJ is probably the best CF we have on the starting 9.

Maier ahead of Anderson
for CF is interesting, although it may just be acknowledging that Anderson has an option and Maier doesn’t. Bloomers ahead of Maier in RF is just insulting.
That seems like a more appropriate name.

Actually
Bloomers is no higher than 3rd at any position. It probably means nothing, but that seems like a player with no purpose on this team come April, or at least by when Aviles returns.
That seems like a more appropriate name.

..
My thoughts exactly. There is no reason for Bloomquist to be playing major league ball.

Is this move intended to push Callaspo?
Or is this move intended to enrage the fans?
Coffee. The NEW Performance Enhancing drug for Sport's Writers. Just ask Ken Rosenthal.
...
Definitely to enrage the fans. Even if Getz is the better 2nd baseman, there is no justifying Betancourt at SS. That guy is absolute shit. Callaspo at short and take Betancourt behind a barn and shoot him. That guy sucks.

steals
Also, I just noticed Getz steals numbers. Pretty impressive.

I wondered about that.
Wasn’t sure if it was just a PR guy providing the names or if MLB required something like that to be “official”.
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.
Bingo
This comes from some flunky who updates the official site, not Hillman or anyone else on the baseball operations side of things.

So, Matt
who do you think ends up starting at 2B???
I have Getz as a possible 12th keeper… it is either him, or Corey Hart for my UTL spot…
I have to decide by Friday…
And yes I know those sound like crappy keepers but its a 20 team league… and along with 12 keepers we also keep 20 man minor league rosters, that never have to be cut, as long as the guys remain rookie eligibility….
For reference it is 6×6 roto, with hold and OBP…. my other 11 keepers are really hitting heavy… Miguel Cabrera, Tulo, D.Wright, Victor Martinez, Markakis, McCutchen, Carlos Quentin.. and then James Sheilds, Dempster, Slowey and Carlos Marmol….
I would keep another pitcher but the only ones I would have worth anything would be Ryan Madson…
So basically the decisions is between keeping Getz at 2B, or Hart or Coco Crisp for my UTL….
We also have tough Games Played Reqs…. SO having a guy that is a starter at each positon is essential.. If Getz only starts 90 games I would be screwed…
And we don’t have big benches so keeping a back up at more than one or 2 postions is also not an option..
Input for any Royals fans would be helpful…
BTW, Tigers fan from Detroit here… I post alot on our SB site, blessyouboys.com
steals
I’d take Getz. Look at those steals…
