me too

I first heard it in my high school Chemistry class, interestingly enough. The teacher loved it and would recite it in the middle of class at odd times.

One of my favorite quotes:
"People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."

That's one of my favorites, too...

..in fact, I think I have that quote on my facebook page. On a related note:

That’s the true harbinger of spring, not crocuses or swallows returning to Capistrano, but the sound of a bat on a ball.

Does that count the "PING" we hear nowadays?

Not to mention it's a balmy 51 degrees here in Southwest Missouri.

I’m definitely going to have a game of catch later.

I'll be keeping my eyes open for that

I’m planning on going to at least 5 games at the Surprise complex and maybe a couple of “road” games.

Time for my annual mocking of the Royals catchphrase for the year:

Evidently, they have picked “It All Happens Here” for 2010.
(feel free to insert your own joke)

Some of the past catchphrases that were easy to make fun of:

1998 “This…Is Hardball” (Easy to mock as “This…Is Hardly Ball”)

1992 “It’s Here!”

1996 “KC Royals Baseball Get In The Game”

In fairness, I guess there are only so many catchphrases one could come up with that don’t end up sounding too cheesy or too lame.

Little Happens Here - Royals 2010

(Sounds like “It All Happens Here”)

Doesn't the NBA have (or had)

an advertising campaign with the phrase “Where ________ Happens”? Or something pretty similar?

"Now…put that in your [BLEEP]ing pipe and smoke it." -Hal McRae

"I was doing this when BJ was in his father's nutsack." -Renzo Gracie

or “caring” or any other catchy thing

Best theme song ever

Actually, that 1996 “Get in the Game” song was qutie pleasant. I think I can still sing it all the way through.

But, as for bad catchphrases, I’m going with “It’s a Hit!” (don’t remember the year)

When I was a kid they had "Royals Baseball - You've Got a Hit on Your Hand!"

My friends and I would walk home from school yelling this and high-fiving each other harder and harder each time when we got to the “hit”. Luckily I only lived a block and half from school, but my hands would be red and swollen by the time I got there.

Ah. Good times.

Sorting thru my cache of pocket schedules.....

“It’s a Hit!” was 1989

You should do a fan post listing all the year's slogans

They’re usually pretty cheesy, and I think it would be fun to see them again. Unfortunately, I only have a handful of old schedules.

When we lived in Connecticut

I was about nine in about ‘75 and we got Channel 9, which showed the Mets games. Their theme song that year was "The Mets are really sockin’ those balls / Knocking those homers over the walls." Within like two weeks every kid in the New York metro area was singing, “The Mets are really suckin’ their balls / Popping their boners right through the walls.”

Between innings they ran that classic Schaefer commercial that went, “Schaefer is the one beer to have when you’re having more than one.”

It's pronounced Poo-ZHOLS in Catalan.

The only two that come immediately to mind are

“Catch the Thrill!”

“You Gotta Love These Guys!”
