That was news to me

But I haven’t been following super close, been busy @ work. I thought Aviles was still working on throwing.

by Tito42 on Mar 10, 2010 1:13 PM EST up reply actions

His arm is recovering pretty well form what I've read and heard.

They are takin it slow with him as he would probably already be trying to throw from SS.

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

by kcscoliny on Mar 10, 2010 1:19 PM EST up reply actions

Parraz also starting, this could be an Omaha lineup

B. Anderson- Omaha
Aviles- Omaha likely to start the season unless arm really improves
Falu- Omaha starter
Parraz – likely Omaha starter
Greinke- So Omaha can win the PCL

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

by kcscoliny on Mar 10, 2010 1:12 PM EST reply actions

oh ya I forgot about Billys tweet complaining bout the trip today

Still likely better with some of these Omaha guys in.
Parraz > Pods
Falu Defense > YuBet
Aviles > Getz
B. Anderson Defense > Ankiel

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

by kcscoliny on Mar 10, 2010 1:22 PM EST up reply actions

Agreed

This team may not be any good either, but the youth alone makes this lineup far more interesting than the retreads and never-treads that will be KC’s lineup this year.

That seems like a more appropriate name.

Have to agree

This is the same thing I thought when I saw todays lineup.

If it was like last year, the pitchers had to just stand and take every pitch.

So what do you guys think about having Wood as the fifth starter.

So he can be called up to the majors when he needs to pitch then back down to let us have another postion player 4 out of 5 games?

Go Royals!

BTW

For those “watching” Gameday, they don’t have pitch f/x, so I don’t think that they’ll show every pitch (just the pitches put in play / 3 strikes if a K / 4 balls if a walk).

by focs on Mar 10, 2010 3:59 PM EST reply actions

If that's sarcasm, use the font

You can’t use Gameday to track balls and strikes for spring training. At parks without pitchFX (which Suprise has), Gameday is only posting the pitches that have a result regardless of how many : every hit ball is only one strike per PA, every strikeout is only 3 strikes per PA, and every walk is only 4 balls.

That seems like a more appropriate name.

It's true.

And shocking, really. I saw most of it while working from home today…and it was really, really ugly. NEB sunk everything and Mizzou couldn’t get anything to go down. Brick after brick after brick.

Mejia

Omaha Royals

2010 PCL Champs!

That seems like a more appropriate name.

Interesting thought

Why don’t we try starting the AA and AAA guys at the beginning of one or two spring games just to see what they can do, then put the KC guys in later against the lesser pitchers to boost their confidence.

Falu

King of the productive out. Ryan wants to have his babies.

That seems like a more appropriate name.

I don't understand why MLB lets you listen to the broadcast when it's internet only

, why not give fans something free in ST and let you listen to every game during Spring

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

by kcscoliny on Mar 10, 2010 5:44 PM EST reply actions

Not only that

But if you buy the MLB.TV Premium package, you still have to buy the 14.99 iPhone app.

And thay black you out

if the game is on ESPN. totally screws you if you don’t have cable.

by bas on Mar 10, 2010 5:51 PM EST up reply actions

Not just ESPN

But if you buy the iPhone app and your in local area you can the video feed almost never. Which makes no sense, because the only time you really use an iPhone when your outside and not at home in front of a TV.

I don't understand

why we can’t get spring training games on video. How hard is it to hook up a shaky hand cam to your laptop and stream it these days?

by bas on Mar 10, 2010 5:54 PM EST reply actions

Last season there were a few

At the White Sox place. Just one fixed camera behind home plate that they streamed for free online. Don’t know if they are still doing it.

by kcbottom9th on Mar 10, 2010 6:02 PM EST up reply actions

It's all local coverage

Stations like WGN, YES, SNY, do almost all the games, so MLB.TV will just tap into their stream their feed. FSNKC doesn’t like 2 games all Spring Training.

about the “whats your real age” add at the top covering up the myblogs drop down menu preventing me from seeing which of “myblogs” have new posts/stories.

I love this time of year.... The Royals are always in first place!!!
