anyone seen Juan Cruz?
Anyone else think its a little strange there has been hardly any talk out of Royals camp about Juan Cruz?
For someone who is supposed to be a staple in our bullpen this year (despite the fact that he had a down year last year, which I think was a pretty big reflection of his role when Joakim got hurt), there has been little talk about him out of camp, and he has yet to throw in any Spring game.
The last news I heard of Juan Cruz was that he had reported to camp, and then Dutton posted this little tidbit on Feb. 18th: "Veteran reliever Juan Cruz helped out victims of the Haitian earthquake by lending the use of an ambulance that he owns. Cruz is involved in numerous charitable and philanthropic projects in the Caribbean.
" That is awesome that Juan is lending a helping hand to those in need, but I am really curious as to why we haven't heard anything about Juan Cruz this Spring.

Maybe he's training to be a ninja reliever?

Why would he keep that a secret?
That would be awesome! If you had asked me when I was 10 years old, Ghostbuster would have been near the top, next to MLB player and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
Haiti, OK
but what about Chile, Juan?
Mr Glass, this is a pro sports team, not a retail store - run it like one!
I saw him
last year pitching and I can remember going to the pin to watch him warm up. He has such a fluid motion that I cannot remeber seeing from other pitchers, it looked to me like the mechinacs were really there and I was a little shocked by the numbers posted last season. He was one of only a few pitchers I would just stand and watch even warm up because he was so smooth with his delivery. On a side note, in the game in which they wore the Monarchs jerseys I was watching him pitch and I was wearing the 1924 road jersey and they were in the home jerseys for the 24 season. My jersey was worn by Odallas in 07 and I remember Buck was catching him warming up and after every pitch they would look up and stare at me in the same jersey only opposite color scheme… I disrupted the warmup with my get up! And yes if you see me this year I am that ass clown that wears the old school Monarchs jersey with a 4 finger glove and all!!! Look for me i’ll be around this year too!!
If Cruz Can
Recapture his early ‘09 form, he’ll be a great 8th inning guy.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

Saw him yesterday
He gave up a monster jack to Matt Tuiasosopo, so it was definitely him.
I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at FanGraphs.
