I think he’s athletic enough to do pretty much anything. The body type profiles at a corner (position) more than it does in the middle or behind the plate. But after coming back from across the pond (after five years in Japan) and seeing what Mike Aviles did at short, I’m not so much into body types any more. As long as (a player) can move, and Moose moves pretty well.
Hillman on Moustakas.
It also sounds like he's really come to appreciate Aviles.

So what are the chances of Aviles at SS this year?
Like 1 in 10, 1 in 20?
More like 1 in a million.
So you’re saying there’s a chance!! I read you HIllman, loud and clear!
I don't know
Maybe I’m imagining, but I get a sense that the rope they’re gonna give Yuni is not as long as we might have first thought. They’ve talked up Aviles a lot this spring (maybe looking for a trade partner?). If that’s sincere and they want to keep him, I’d give Aviles a 1 in 3 chance of being the primary SS by June.
That seems like a more appropriate name.

I agree with you.
I actually think if Aviles proves he’s healthy Yuni might have already hung himself. KC had last summer and winter to get back in shape and going by what some Ms fans said about his work ethic then he might have already started to turn away the org.
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
We can only hope that's the case
If DM has learned to cut his losses this quickly, it would be a sign that he might be learning.
The infield
of Gordon, Aviles, Callaspo, and Butler would be a pretty reasonable for offensive production.
Add Pods (who isn’t looking like a defender, but might actually get on base), Ankiel and DDJ, and you actually have the makings of a real outfield.
Now, if only we could do something about the DH (Kila) and C (Pena) positions…
In terms of WAR
Aviles + Pena + Kila – Yuni – Kendall – Guillen = 8 wins?
Is this team just roster management and a good season from Gordon away from being decent?
Add Crow and another minor leaguer making the big step up
and sure. I don’t think they are that far away. Of course you have to play them over guys like Guillen and Yuni, which will never happen.
This is the tough part
We might have the pieces to compete, but it requires moving away from highly paid players.
Pods
Add Pods (who isn’t looking like a defender
Remember that video of Pods saying that the “d” in his name may be silent? I think he’s right. Let’s make him earn his “D”. And, while we’re at it, let’s make him earn the “O” as well. When he puts up some offense, he can have it back. Until then, his name shall be Psednik.
