Around SBN: Phil Mickelson Outshines Tiger Woods

Harper gets most of the press, but this guy is right up there with him for best draft prospect. He will cost a bunch of money but he sounds like the real deal---upper 90s heat, a couple of great breaking pitches, already has a change--and he has the smarts to know what to do with his stuff.

Taillon is a stud but being from a well off community he will cost a bundle.

If he and Harper fall past the Royals then I will start to believe JoPos article about the draft. Taillon and Harper are both great talents and deserving of Top 4 picks and the demands that come with them.

If Taillon and Harper are gone I would like the Royals to take Manny Machado. If they are not gonna spend big then Deck McGuire wouldn’t be a bad choice.

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

Would love to see a position player taken this year with the 1st pick

If Bryce Harper is available and they don’t bite, I think I may just decide the whole thing is rigged.

I like your strategy

I like McGuire and Machado a lot.

But what about Ranaudo? He’s pretty good too.

The more I read

the more I like Deck McGuire. Not really overpowering stuff, but a solid pitcher for the middle of the order that will come up fast. Seiler has been covering him a lot on his site.

Chris Sale and Drew Pomeranz have been pitching pretty well.

Without Harper or Taillon, I have this feeling the Royals will actually draft A.J. Cole. Super high upside, but a big risk.

The draft is definitely loaded with pitching prospects and not a whole lot of positional prospects

but I really like Machado.

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

Not a big Deck McGuire fan

Drafting #4, I want someone with upside. Sale and Pomeranz have more upside as college pitchers, so I’d probably lean toward them. Cole is a very good HS arm, just a notch below Taillon—and I’d be happy to take him if Harper/Taillon were not available.

Michael Lorenzen

I like this HS OF, he compares to Ryan Braun with a little less power.

If they go anywhere other than Taillon or Machado out of the HS class I would be disappointed.

Machado is 6’2 180 lbs and he hasn’t even started lifting weights yet. He is the class of the positional prospects outside Harper IMO.

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
