Lineup vs. Rox (3/21) - 3:05 CT
Even though KU is out, support those Mizzou Tigers. They've got a big game ahead of them.
Other news: Mr. Joe Nathan is definitely out with Tommy John surgery. Hopefully that means the Royals can get some shots in late innings against the Twinkies.
Dutton's article from yesterday sums up the Royals' positional and pitching debates.
To pitch today vs. the Rockies: Gaby Hernandez, Bruce Chen, and Roman Colon. Greinke's throwing a minor league game against the Padres with Kendall catching.
The game will air on tape delay at 10 CT on the MLB Network.
Gameday here.
Lineup vs. the Rox:1. Pods - LF
2. Getz - 2B
3. DDJ - RF
4. Billy - 1B
5. Callaspo - 3B
6. Fields - DH
7. Anderson - CF
8. Vance - C
9. Yuni - SS
P - Hernandez

Probably negative WAR, given the lineup

Ladies And Gentlemen,
Your 2010 Kansas City Royals!

If they pitch well
I’m okay with it. We’ll see how Colon does, at least.

2 errors on Betancourt
He’s twice the player of anyone else on the diamond.
Yu-Bet Flashing Leather.
He’s the total package.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.
No doubt
I lost the net audio feed…MLB.com could use an upgrade
I Just Pay

The Comeback Is
Afoot.

Actually
for as much as people hate on Podsednik, his numbers in camp have been pretty decent. I doubt his ability to play solid defense, but not a bad leadoff option.
That two-hole is pretty rough though.
The comeback is complete
Now our pitchers can give up more runs.
I Just Lost
The video feed, so there’s that.

I was able to get the audio back
but not on the gameday page. Had to go to the audio/video links in a separate window.
I Got Audio
Back, but neither video feed is working.

Humber replaces Hernandez after one inning
Are we looking to cram all of our fodder in one game?
Pods with the leadoff triple
I put the odds at 45% that we can get him home
But he Getz it

I feel sorry for the minor leaguers who have to face Greinke
in his next start
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

We Have Insane
Expectations for him. No one should ever lay a bat on one of his pitches. Ever.

Yu-Bet Has A
Load position, alright. A real load.

DFA him, he’s worthless.

He's worth it.
He is the Twins. Without him, they lose fans, they lose media attention, and their team loses its composure. You can’t measure how much he means to them.

When he plays 1B or DH?
After years in Minnesota, I know he means more to them than Pujols to StL, Jeter to NY, or anyone else. It’s a lot of money for a small market team, yes, but since they manage to compete year in and year out with whatever they have, I don’t doubt them.

He could have a bad injury and that contract could become an albatross
See Vernon Wells
by Soria's Unibrow on Mar 21, 2010 6:02 PM EDT up reply actions
He Doesn't Even
Need to be injured for that to be an albatross. He will get older, and his position is a big part of his value. This is an unusual move for the Twins. They’re usually smarter than this. Maybe they’ll trade him to the Yanks/Red Sox.
